The cable did exactly what it was designed to do

It is a simple conductor with two common connectors. Your following questions for this item are mostly irrelevant. For example, "Would you recommend this to a friend?" If my friend needed/wanted to stream video from a computer to a TV, a cable such as I bought is required. If no streaming is desired no such cable is required!
