The Insignia 6-outlet surge protector is simple yet effective in its purpose. Its design is sleek, smooth, and blends into the background seamlessly. The 6-foot cord allows for flexibility when outlets are further than one would wish, and it has a flat outlet plug that is much more conspicuous than the standard as it allows furniture that is in front of the outlet to be placed further back. Also, it comes with a small light that tells you if it is on and working, as well as an on/off button that makes it easy to disconnect the power to everything plugged in with the flick of a switch. The surge protector comes with a 3-line protection to safeguard hot, neutral, and ground lines. It also has 1,080 joules protection to shield devices in the case of a power surge. The best part is that it is backed with a $10,000 guarantee for the equipment connected to it. So far, it works great for its intended purpose, better than many actually. This is a simple, 6 outlet surge protector that I needed for my standing desk. It’s constructed out of plastic, there are 2 smallish holes on the back for mounting. It would be nice if it had the tabs on the top and bottom to make it easier to mount, but not everyone needs those. Here’s a quick tip if you’re looking to mount this on a desk or wall, tape a piece of masking tape, tape it on the back of this surge strip, then punch holes in the tape where the holes are. Take tape off and tape on to the desk or wall and voila, you’ll have the proper spacing to mount! Features: I appreciate the flat wall plug in case I need to put it behind a piece of furniture. While it doesn’t have many extras (no USB-A or USB-C outlets), it is UL listed which I prefer. Many surge strips I’ve seen has ETL protection, which is probably fine, if I can pick between the 2, I prefer to get products UL listed. The protection of 1,080 joules should suffice for my needs (laptop, monitor and phone chargers). If you plan on using this for home theater equipment, TV consider a surge protector with a higher joule rating. If you’re looking for a surge strip that’s UL listed and fairly inexpensive, this is a good product. If you want a fancy surge strip for your high end stereo equipment or a surge protector with USB charging ports for your portable devices, look elsewhere. This is a plain and simple device.

You can never have enough of these around. Power Distribution Units like these are used everywhere in most homes. I've had many over the years but few live up to expectations. You'll find the Insignia name on lots of different components, it's a Best Buy brand. I have bought their products in the past and been very happy with them. This PDU has some really good features and I needed an additional one with the holidays coming up. For starters it has six outlets on it. They'll be good for basic AC plugs. The outlets don't rotate like some I've seen, but this is a good general purpose PDU. I like the black color and it has a 6 foot power cord with a low profile, right angle wall plug that's nice for using behind furniture, even if it's close to the wall. On the top side there's a power/reset switch as well as an LED indicator that let's you know the outlets are protected. This is not only a PDU, it's a surge protector that offers 1080 Joules of protection. It has 3-line protection which means your safe from L-N, L-G and N-G surges. It also comes with a $10,000 connected equipment guarantee. One of the best features about this outlet strip is that it is UL Certified. There are so many power strips available at other stores that are lacking in this certification. A UL recognized component should be everyone's first choice, certainly when buying something that has the potential of carrying up to 15A. I feel this is something a lot of people don't look for and take too lightly. This power tap is rated for voltage protection at 600V. It is for use in 125VAC 60Hz systems at up to 15A. It is for indoor use only and for dry locations, so not for use on the outside holiday lights. An incredibly reasonably priced PDU for the protection it gives you. This will be great for indoor holiday lights and is sure to find it's way into a more permanent location after that.

This 6-Outlet, Insignia, Surge Protector is a must have for electronic that may be damaged due to power surges. This power strip extender turns one outlet into 6 outlets that are now protected from surges. The surge protector has a great 90 degree plug on it that will fit nicely in tight areas such as behind a desk or furniture. There is a little LED light to show that the protector is currently active and powered up. The 6 foot cord allows for this to be mounted far from the outlet in areas that don't have power close by. There are screw holes on the back to allow for it to be mounted on a desk or similar. It would be nice to have USB charging ports for all of our devices these days. The plugs are also very close so any larger power bricks may take up two spots on the protector itself which will limit usefulness. Overall, it seems like a good option for those who don't want to spend much more money on battery backups (Which double as surge protection) and just need a more passive option. These do need replaces once the Joules are used up however.

Needed a surge protector for a small close space. Worked perfectly. I was able to have my charger, tablet and laptop plugged in at the same time without any problems.

I chose this item because of the long cord compared to others. The covers for the outlet holes are nice if you have small children and it will protect them from putting their fingers in the outlets. It's a solid, well-made product that I believe will last a long time, so it was worth spending a bit more than some of the competing products.

We bought this as an "open box" unit. It is easy to use, clean looking, with a nice length electrical cord. I hope that I never have to find out if it lives up to this claim of surge protection but, I am satisfied at this point.
