    It's a power strip, you plug it in and then you plug stuff into it. This one does come with the surge protector just in case. The power strip has worked extremely well, no complaints or issues.

    i mean if you need more outlets, this is cheap. i wouldn't use this for your computer or tv, but for your fans and cell phone chargers, this works.
