Shredding Amount

I started using this Shredder today and I try to shred 6 pieces of paper in the Shredder and it got overheated and stop working. This can only shred less than the amount that is stated.

I thought it was criss cross but it appears to be just the standard also it says you can put 5 sheets I wouldn't try maybe 3 or 4.

After a few uses it stopped working on Auto and there was a burnt odor being emitted. Returned it and got a new one as an even exchange. Working ok so far.
