The frost got to around 3" thick this past month so I turned the temp down to defrost. At the same time, I noticed some of the food wasn't frozen but soft to touch. I had several bags of seafood that had gone bad so those along with some other meat item that had to be thrown out. Once I cleared out the freezer, I plugged it back in but there was no sound whatsoever, so I thought maybe the issue was fixed. Boy was I wrong. The freezer was dead. I put in a glass of water overnight and it never froze. I had to haul it to Best Buy for them to send it in for warranty coverage. Oh and to the folks thinking Insignia is responsive on these 1-star review, well I contacted them and detailed my experience and issues, and "Viri" contacted me back and all they said was food spoilage is not covered under warranty (unless you paid for extended coverage) and to contact them back should I have any further questions. So, it seems like Best Buy and Insignia intentionally sell bad products, and push to sell their extended warranties to provide any kind of REAL support

Is smaller than expected & shelves are bit too narrow so had to modify so would not fall out. Very light & must be careful when opening or closing so won't slide or tip. Am in an apt so is ok but would not put in a garage. It has not frosted up. Upper pizza compartment will not hold more than 2-3 if in boxes or ?4 if not. It serves my needs for now due to space but will return to chest for added inside space.
