A: Hope this answers you questions. Top/small shelf is 3" high 16" wide and 14" deep. Main shelves are 16"wide, 14" deep and with the adjustable shelf in the higher position, separated by, top to bottom, 10", 8", 8", and 10". On the top shelf with 10", behind the thermostat you can get another inch. 2nd from bottom shelf is adjustable by 2.5" Floor shelf is 16" wide, 8" deep and 8" high
Q: What are the recommended temps for the install location? I.e. can I put this in my garage?
A: from +5 deg F up to 109 deg F.
Q: can this be laid down to fit in the back of a small suv?
A: Hi, Jerry. This unit can definitely be laid down, however, it would need to be left top rest for at least 24 hrs prior to plug it to the electricity, once you install it. Alexander G. - Insignia Support
A: Maybe twice a year, take out the food and put it into a cooler. Unplug the freezer. Put a pan of boiling water on the bottom, close the door for around 30 minutes to loosen the ice, then open the freezer and most of the ice should be loose enough to wipe it out. Put some old towels on the floor around the front of the freezer to soak up the melted ice DO NOT PICK AT THE ICE WITH ANY SHARP KNIFE OR TOOL TO LOOSEN IT UP. Years ago, I did that once and it punctured the wall of the freezer and it was beyond repair. Just wait for the hot water to melt it.

Q: Can this fit a large turkey on the shelf?
A: Yes, I put a 24 pound turkey in the freezer last weekend without having to move any shelves. I have owned the freezer since September and it’s smaller, upright size holds everything that I want it to. We are a family of two.
