I have to defrost it every 3 months or so. It's not a big deal because it's not huge and defrosts quickly with a blow dryer. But defrosting it less often would be nicer. And no, I don't stand there with the door open staring at the contents.

Finally had to call the company. With 1 day left to return it, I had to return instead of try to have service. Overall, nice freezer, but low quality in my opinion. Good customer service from Best Buy and the manufacturer.

Very hard to open the door

Checked manual and saw the note about hot air pull in wait time 10-15 secoonds before door can be opened. Manual also suggested to apply wax or jelly all around on gasket to make it easier to open door. This suggestion also didn't help, still very hard to open the door. Also, I have to wait 5-10 minutes before I can open the door. Insignia tech support hung up twice on me twice after I explained the problem. I am thinking what should be my next step.

The interior is poorly designed; the shelving has awkward placement, there's a missed opportunity for storage on the door, and although it is advertised as frost-free, I have frost. Did I mention it nearly tips over every time I try to open the door? I have only given it two stars because, unlike other people, it has not stopped working (knock on wood x3). I would not recommend purchasing this freezer.

Mine worked great for 2 years. I turned it off to defrost and it never turned back on. Out of warranty, best buy won't fix it, insignia won't fix it. Not a single repairman I called will fix it, and I live in one of the largest cities in the USA. It's essentially trash now.
