I have been using it for about 2 weeks, the power is not as intense as my previous microwave, but i already knew that because we have a similar appliance at work which has been there for years. It works well, the size is perfect for me.

This is a nice, convenient compact countertop microwave. The stainless and black appearance is nice, and it looks good with most other appliances in the kitchen. At 900 watts, it is enough power to heat up and cook what you want. The 1200 watt microwaves are a lot quicker to heat things up, but also come with a higher price tag and usually are larger. Out of the box, it was light enough for one person to handle. I thought this was going to be larger inside. The outside dimensions are comparable to my old microwave but the interior is much smaller at 0.9 cu ft. It is labeled as a ‘compact’ microwave so this is okay. I was hoping it would be a little larger, but the fact that I can fit everything in it that I need to makes the smaller size okay. The safety door has a trigger on the door handle. Not a feature I have ever seen before. This is a convenient feature when you want to keep kids out, but it can be annoying for adults as it is not on most other microwaves. I enjoy the pre-set cooking features. I do miss the ‘popcorn’ button. The buttons are similar to most over microwaves, so it is easy to use for someone who has not used it before. It defrosts well, and while I have not used the different power levels it is a nice feature. The LED screen is very easy to see. The turntable glass and rollers are easy to take out and clean. Overall, it is an easy to clean stainless steel appearance, and looks attractive sitting on the countertop. I must add, it comes with a 1 year warranty for both parts and labor which is very nice!

First of all, I would like to take away a big star from this product for the problem in packaging. The entire microwave oven box was packed upside down in the mailing box. The packaging inside the oven was adequate and the parts inside the machine were not affected by this packaging error. Although product came in a Best Buy box and the name of the company gives away the possible nature of the product, there were no handling instructions on the package. The microwave looks appropriate for small apartments/studios or guest bedrooms or home theaters. It looks like a common standard microwave. No bells and whistles. The metal and black combination is nothing over the top and looks classy enough. The space inside is ample. The clean and simple design makes it easy to use. Kids will be able to use it easily, too. At 900 W, this microwave is quite powerful for its size. Heat was distributed evenly on the plate. Overall, the microwave oven worked very well. It is good for quick popcorn or quick reheating of frozen dinners or refrigerated food. However, it might not be a good idea to microwave for very long times. There was no overheating when the product was used. However, given its size, I did not want to go up over 4 minutes on high. The microwave is quiet and the OFF sound is not very loud. Overall, this neat microwave is a good addition to smaller kitchens or other spaces.

The size of this microwave is perfect as it is compact and fits into a smaller kitchen perfectly. I purchased it as a house warming gift and they love it! Very easy to use.

A decent enough micro at the price. Its main flaw is that the display is not illuminated and very difficult to see. It also takes too many steps to just re-hat a cup of coffee. Otherwise it's still working after nearly a month

No email, no call, no explanation—just a sudden cancellation. When I reached out to customer service, I was given vague excuses and no real resolution. It’s frustrating and unprofessional to have my time wasted like this. If this is how they treat customers, I’ll take my business elsewhere. Save yourself the headache and shop somewhere reliable."

this microwave seemed OK & good value for first year or so. Then the clock stopped working & the touch pad timer gradually stopped working properly (most often used keys broker first). Finally after about 2 years it has developed a mind of its own, turning itself on /off at will. What a piece of junk

It died after exactly one year after purchase, just out of the one year warranty period. Digital key paid stopped working. I will never again by anything made by Insignia.

We bought this microwave the years ago and it had completely died on us. It suddenly started to run on its own. Pretty frustrated as I would have thought this would last at least a few more years. I would spend a bit more money for something higher quality.

Bought with high hopes, not powerful enough, took 3 minutes to heat my small dinner that takes other microwaves 1-2 minutes. Heat distribution was terrible too.
