I used my Christma's money to but these for my kiddos. I purchased in January and didn't open until we were going on a road trip in February. The plug was broken and didn't supply any power to either unit. I contacted best buy and was told by a few different people that since I had it just at 30 days (32 to be exact) that there was nothing they could do. I spent around $15 more to buy a new power source only to find out that one of the units didn't work at all. It would turn on but wouldn't recognize a dvd. I tried multiple and even a new one straight out if the package. So now my two unit package was down to one. Since my son was 1 ands my daughter was 10, she got left out. The one player that did work doesn't work correctly. It will only play what it feels like playing. It has often refused to play brand new movies. We stopped at a store on our way to the beach and bought a new cartoon. I opened it in the parking lot, put it straight in the player, and wasted my money because it wouldn't play it. When it does play a dvd it pauses constantly. I drove to a specialist 2 hours away, so a 4hr round trip, and I turned on frozen when we left, paused it when we got there, and hit play when we were headed back home. It paused it so often that in 4 hours the movie still wasn't over. I wasted my money, best buy refused to help, and now I'm going to have to buy another set. I won't be buying from best buy again though.

Got these for my 11 year old and 5 year old for a road trip. Easy to set up and they each got to watch their own DVD. They never did end up watching the same one but I tested it out and worked fine. My 5 year old also liked I could take it out and watch a DVD anywhere in the house (of course near a plug). It must be plugged in. Comes with all cords you need except headphones.

Picture and sound quality are average and good enough for road trips with kids.

so far so good. I purchased these because I am using 1 monitor in each of my two cars. I just had to buy another charger. image quality is nice. Can't complain

We decided to buy this particular model because my sister-in-law had purchased this one, too, and she liked it a lot. It was pretty easy to get the wires, etc in the correct places. We used this for our drive to Disney a few months ago, and it worked out well to keep our three-year-old entertained on the long trip. We only used it for that trip because I don't trust leaving it in a really hot vehicle all the time. We plan to just use it for long car trips. Overall, we are very pleased with this purchase so far.

We purchased this DVD player for my 2.5 year old son for Christmas. We were thinking ahead with the double screen and we got it for a great price. The first time we used it, it hadn't been on for an hour and it froze. Over the course of 2 days it froze 4 times. I had to unlatch it from the seat every time to restart it. To change the disc you have to take it of the the head rest case too. The volume is so low I can't even hear and its attached to my seat. I am so disappointed. Most of the reviews were positive so I thought this was a great buy but t was a BUST! I will be returning this product!

My wife picked this up on a trip with 4 kids. Easy set up but the volume on unit B is none, regardless of volume control and plugs and unit A is so low (at max) that it's barely heard. She would have taken it back immediately but they'd proceeded on their trip, hoping to find another BestBuy to return it. Was hoping that we got one of the good ones, but no luck.

I am a father or two small children (ages 3 and 1) and decided to purchase this for a road trip to Kansas City from Chicago. At first I was very impressed with the quality of picture, etc. However, 4 hours into the drive they just simply stopped working with the error message of "No Disc Found" displaying even though the same disc that had been in there was still there. I put several other movies in thinking it could have been a scratched disc but had no success. I am extremely upset as I spent money on this and barely used it for 4 hours. Please save your money and don't buy this item!

Our previous dual DVD players for the car finally died and we needed new ones. After reading reviews, we purchased these. The screen size is much bigger than our previous ones, which the kids loved. Another upgrade is you can either watch 2 different movies or connect them and watch the same one. The only issue we had was if you have skinny headrests like we do, we had to use the straps and wrap them around the headrest posts and "hang" the DVD players rather than mount them to the headrest. So if you have a vehicle where the headrests are skinny or narrow as the get to the top, you'll have to mount these differently. I think it worked out better anyway as the screens were more vertical than they would have been mounted to the headrest. They have worked great so far.

Great entertainment for children. Ideal for the car and entertain the children while you drive.

First, I should mention that I did buy this as an OPEN BOX item. However, it was listed as "Open-Box Excellent" condition (remains in like-new condition), so I assumed that because of its listing status that at least the A/V connection would work between the 2 screens. Other than the fact that the A/V connection jack on one of the devices does NOT work at all, we did get what we paid for. The other items in the bundle are in good condition, the image is a fair quality for the 9 inch screen, and the sound seems to be fine. This set will still be great for road trips with the kids; they will just need to watch 2 different movies instead of the same movie on 2 screens.

I only used one dvd player since my daughter was still rear facing. I started to have an issue with my sons all of a sudden after a year. It would skip and then sometimes it would say no disc. I would unplug and plug it in and it would work. Then finally it gave out. I figured i could just use the second unit and watch one dvd on both screens. I went to use hers for the first time and hers doesnt work either. I never even plugged it in! Save your money. Get a different system.

I bought this product in late Nov 2015. In early January 2016, less than 2 months later, I removed the charger from the car adapter and the piece unscrewed and all the little pieces inside went all over and I am unable to piece it back together. I called the store to order a new one and they do not carry this piece...they transferred me to Corporate and they do not carry this piece either. They were able to find it on Amazon for me for $13.99 plus $5.98 s&h. LONG story short, if the power cord breaks, do expect to get a new one through best buy. I now have to call Insignia direct or purchase it 3rd party.

The units play nicely. The only complaints I have is 1. You have to remove the product from the holder in order to change a disc and 2. The player isn't very secure in the head rest holders that it comes with. You would think that because it comes with the product that it fits well.

I normally don't do reviews but I do not want anyone to go though what I did. I purchased this product and we had to return it as one of them didn't work. We exchanged for new ones. They worked for about a week and then now they work whenever they feel like it. They keep saying no disc even though I put brand new dvd's straight from the box in them. One of them now doesn't work at all. I tried taking them back to the store but was turned away stating we could not return them anymore. I was extremely upset and now we are without any portable DVD players. I wish I would of spent a little more money and got the brand name ones. Money is tight so we can not purchase new ones. PLEASE DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY LIKE I DID.

I read all the reviews and choose this product but it's terrible. Used twice and it stopped working. Plays disc when it feels like it and now when it plays the disc it make a loud weird noise. The sound barely works now and I've only had it a week. Crazy.

After reading reviews on a few different dual DVD players we decided to get this one from Best Buy. We wanted 2 screens that would play the same movie for our toddlers. With this particular one unit B will play the movie from unit A if a cord is attached. However, you have to press and hold a button on unit B for it to change to AV IN and it has NEVER worked immediately- it takes on average about 15 tries before it finally switches over instead of pulling up the setup menu. (which has a completely separate button so why it pulls up with the AV IN button is beyond me) on top of the hassle for same movie function, unit A has quit working after only 6 months and unit B skips or freezes often. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY ON THIS PRODUCT!!!!

I bought these portable DVD players for a trip we took to California and what I liked the most was that each DVD player can play different movies (great for the big gap in ages differences) and the capability of being able to watch the same movie at the same time too!
