If your tv isn't too big it's not bad being able to change and play at the same time otherwise it seems like you are sitting way to close.

Doesn’t seem like it will slip out very easily. I would recommend using the factory charging cable for controller firmware updates, though, just to be safe.

This works fine and was only $3 on Black Friday.
