I woukd recommend it if you dont have the budget for it. However i would say if you can just save for the better pencil go for that one because it will improve the experience by far. So either the gen 1 or gen 2 pencil woukd be great. If you have the newer ipad air or pro then you can buy the pro pencil. All in all, for the price its good enough.

I’ve had the Apple Pencil before and opted to go with a cheaper peripheral for drawing. Thus far this Insignia pencil is a like-for-like exact exchange, with one minor difference: you do have to use the USB-C cable to charge it vs. the magnetic dock. While the mag dock holds it in place very nicely, it doesn’t charge the non-Apple pencil.

I bought it with my a16 iPad and it connected perfectly with no issues. Battery life is good but could be longer. And the size is not too large for my hands either.

Wasn't sure since it wasn't an apple item, but we wouldn't know any different. It connected immediately and stays connected. Works well even with a screen glass on device. Love the magnet. Only wish the battery lasted longer but I think it is typical battery length for all pens.

Will turn off on its own and lasts a while before needing a charge. Its no apple pen but it is as good. For art, theres no lag in use. The pen is good overall.
