impressed so far
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.bought htis antenna last night, got it home, connected to tv,scanned channels and now have 39 channels! with another more expensive indoor antenna i only received 19 channels before it crapped out and i returned it. so far looks very promising. it picked up RF channel 6 which is georgia PBS that shows as channel 20. if it continues to do well during the daytime hours,i will be purchasing another one for my TV room on the other side of the house. so far i would recommend this antenna to all. it says 60 mile range but i didn't realistically expect that since a lot of things that can cause even an outdoor long range antenna to not pickup stations can affect the reception and signals start to drop after 60 to 70 miles because of the curve of the earth.

Posted .Thank you for your detailed feedback. We're thrilled to hear that the antenna is performing well and has significantly increased the number of channels you receive. It's great to know that it even picked up RF channel 6, which is Georgia PBS. We appreciate your recommendation and are glad to hear that you are considering purchasing another one for your TV room. Your insights on the 60-mile range and reception challenges are valuable, and we're pleased that our product is meeting your expectations so far. Keith | Insignia Support

Picked up more channels but location is key
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This Insignia Amplified antenna was easy to set up and I like the stand that it comes with. Of course, it also comes with push pins and adhesive stickers for mounting if that's your preference. The antenna is black on one side and white on the other, so you have an option of which best fits your taste. I prefer the black side, but don’t care for the white cord on the antenna. It would blend in better to me no matter which side is displayed if the cord itself was black and white instead of all white. You can't beat the unintrusive ultra-thin design, though, whether it's mounted or on the stand. I tried the antenna on 3 different TVs and even though it picked up more channels on all of them (61, 68, and 83 respectively), the number of channels that pixelated or lost signal was worse. I can’t say that the antenna is bad or doesn’t work because it did indeed pick up more channels. And just because it didn’t do well where I wanted it, doesn’t mean it won’t work for you since location is key. It's worth the cost if it works for you.

Effective antenna with nice features
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This Insignia HDTV antenna does a good job of pulling in signals from up to 30 miles away from my location. That's enough range to capture all the over-the-air digital channels in my metropolitan area plus a few outside of it. I've tried several different antennas and this Insignia model is the only one that has worked acceptable. All the others were returned since they couldn't pull in all my local stations, wither at all, or without requiring the antenna to be re-oriented depending on the channel I wanted to watch. This Insignia antenna works without having to fiddle around with it, once it is set up. I used a channel finder website that tells which direction station transmitters are located in relation to my house. Then set up the antenna to face the flat side of it in a compromise direction that would more or less be pointed at the transmitters. After that, have your TV run a channel scan ad see if all the stations are captured and if any are garbled. Then readjust the antenna orientation and perform another channel scan to see if the results are better. you may have to do this several times. A nice thing about this antenna is that it comes with a decent stand that holds the antenna securely. Other antennas I've tried lack this key feature and made orienting the antenna impossible. This one solves that problem. This antenna also comes with a USB power supply so everything you need is in the box. Overall this is a great addition to a HDTV that you can't or won't connect to a cable box or streaming device and it picks up broadcast channels very cleanly.

Effectiveness varies, beware of sharp pins
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you've ever set up one of these types of antennas before, you shouldn't have any trouble here. And if this is your first, the instructions are easy enough to follow and you should have everything hooked up in minutes. A very strong word of caution, though, do NOT use the push-pins that come included. While trying different areas of my wall to test out the reception, the heads of the pins came off the instant I tried pulling them out, resulting in a sharp poking hazard that I ended up just hitting with a hammer to push all the way into the wall. Discard the pins as safely as possible and use something else to secure the antenna if you're hanging it on a wall. Also, I found that I was picking up better signals when the antenna was set up on the included stand. I don't know the reasoning why, and it could largely depend on your own location. In general, the effectiveness of the antenna will depend on how far you are from various stations. I personally had a little over 20 that I could reach, with a few having very spotty reception. Overall, the antenna does work as it should, but I would suggest doing some research ahead of time to see if it will meet your needs or if you need something with more range.

Value-Priced Antenna as a Cable Alternative
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you're looking for an alternative to cable TV, this antenna could be the answer. This antenna finds multiple cable channels that you would not have to pay for including local TV channels that carry, ABC, NBC, CBS, PBS and more. Installation is very simple: just connect the cables and find a suitable place to mount the antenna itself. One end of the cable goes directly to your TV or cable box, while the other goes to a USB brick (included). The included instructions make it visually easy to connect. Once your antenna is connected, you have to install the channels that can be done automatically. This does take some time, however, My antenna found over 50 channels. This antenna does have a 60-mile radius. Although the process was seamless, I was disappointed by the image on most channels. They had a blotched image and could not remain stable. The problem was not due to the antenna, but the amplification power. My TV is over 30 miles from downtown which is also a factor. Although the price of this antenna was reasonable, you may need to invest in a more powerful antenna amplifier if you do not live in a central city location. This Insignia indoor HDTV did work as advertised, but you should consider purchasing it depended on your location in relation to TV towers in your area.

Best Ultra-Thin Indoor HDTV antenna I've owned
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have two other Ultra-thin antennas, both with amplifiers like this one, from the 'big name' manufacturer but this one is my favorite. Besides getting 40 OTA channels in the snow, my favorite 'feature' of the antenna is the multiple mounting methods that Insignia provides - 1) 3M adhesive squares for attaching the antenna directly to a window, 2) push pins to mount it directly to a soft (plaster, for example) wall and 3) a steel mounting stand that you can set on a table or desktop. I'm using the steel stand with the Insignia - my other antennas are stuck ro the window with duct tape... As is pretty standard, there is a black and a white side to the antenna - doesn't affect performace but gives you flexibility in matching with your decor. Great value compared to some of the 'name' alternatives - definitely recommended.

Antenna
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The antenna came well packed with all parts included; the stand with two standoffs, amplifier with ten foot cord, wall plug, two stickpins and four double sided stickers for wall or window mount. I chose to use the stand, and have it sitting on the window sill. It's nice that there are two choices of color, white on one side and black on the other. To me the white stands out too much so I went with the black side. I put the standoffs on the stand which is fairly heavy and slide the antenna onto it. The fit is nice and snug. After connecting the cable (that I wish were black, it's white) to my coax connector on the back of the tv and then the USB to the plug, I started scanning my channels. First I have to tell you that this is replacing another antenna that is not amplified but boasted 60 miles. That model gave me 44 channels, that I was pretty satisfied with. So after scanning using this Insignia model I got a whopping 71 channels of which all but one came in crystal HD clear. I am really impressed and will be moving it to the main TV in the livingroom now, it'll replaced an amplified that scanned in with 51 channels.

Works well
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This antenna works. I haven't bought or used an antenna since the early 90's but this one seems to work well picking up HD channels. I live in Portland and am able to receive around 60 over the air channels with this antenna. I'll be buying a 2nd one for my other tv.

My antenna
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I loved this product. Had to upgrade because it wasn’t strong enough to maintain a strong signal. Bought it at a great price. If you don’t have cable. It makes a difference.

Disappointing and not better than my older antenna
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had high hopes for this indoor antenna, but unfortunately, it has let me down. I already had a cheap antenna I purchased, and I had to place it closer to a window, but I had high hopes for this one specially because of its size and the fact that it has a power source. I just thought this was going to be more powerful indoors. First off, the size is far too big. Compared to other antennas I’ve used, this is a big black square, making it obvious on my white wall, and if I wanted to be discrete and place it behind my TV (not noticeable), I quickly learned that having it behind the TV is almost useless. The channels constantly break up, and the reception is spotty at best. For it to work properly, I literally had to place it right next to a window something that defeats the purpose of it being an “indoor” antenna. I had cables going from the TV to the window and then there is a big black square on my window. Just not visually pleasing at all. Most people don't have their TVs located right next to windows, so this just isn't practical. Lastly, it requires a power source, which is quite odd for an antenna in this price range. I’ve had cheaper models that work better and don’t need to be plugged in. Overall, I don’t really recommend this antenna as I think there are better options out there that are a little more discrete even if you do have to place it near a window and they don’t require a USB power source. For some reason, I was under the impression that because it was going to be receiving power it would increase the ability to get quality channels from behind the TV but that’s not the case.

Doesn't work very well
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Easy to set up, but it didn't pull in any channels for me. I live 10 miles from our ABC affiliate and about 30 miles from NBC, FOX, and CBS affiliates. The 60 mile rating is false. Spent over an hour moving the antenna around and reprogramming. It occasionally picked up ABC, but never held it steady.
