I have windows ten and it hadn't installed all of the necessary drivers for this to work. My computer wasn't even seeing the device. I went to http://www.drivethelife.com/windows-drivers/fix-no-bluetooth-in-device-manager-on-windows-10-8-7-xp-vista-computer.html and ran the Driver talent and it worked!

The installation program installed the adapter, and told me it's ready. Windows 7 searched for drivers and told me there weren't any found. The link provided in the set up guide (and elsewhere) doesn't have a a driver available to download. When I downloaded the installation program again and ran it, all it told me was software was up to date. No option to install or re-install drivers. I also received compatibility issue notifications during set up, despite being labeled as a Windows 7 product. There are many similar experiences reported in threads on the company's web site. I attempted to install this USB BT on my Win 7 system. The system identified the device as "unknown" when installed, and no generic drivers appeared to exist. The instructions in the package direct you to the Broadcom website to download the driver. However, when I did, the software/driver wouldn't install because Symantec antivirus identified the software package as containing a virus. I found other Broadcom BT drivers at HP and Dell sites, but when those installed, they failed because the B/T device couldn't be found. I plan to take this one back and exchange it for another just in case this item was defective. The model number of this particular device is BCW20702A0. When I picked this item up, it was on sale for $14. I'll update this review once I try another unit.

Works as advertised. Wanted something to connect my Turtle Beach Elite 800X to my desktop so I could game with them and works great.

I'm running a Latitude laptop with W10. Installation was slow, pairing crashes my system almost every time. when it doesn't, if i reconnect something, then it crashes then. if BB was open now, i'd be returning it the same day. my system has never had a system crash before. maybe its just not compatible with windows 10, but its supposed to be ok with windows 8.1, so that makes no sense. try it if you have 7, but don't grab this assuming it'll work.

When I first set this up, I plugged it into my USB 3.0 port. Shortly after, I bought a USB 3.0 external hard drive. I plugged the dongle into a USB 2.0 port, and the light only lit up dimly. I then tried my other USB 2.0 port to the same results. When I plugged it back into the USB 3.0 port the blue light came on nice and bright, and the Bluetooth software opened like usual. I'm not sure if it's an issue with the dongle, or a weird issue with my laptop, but it's something to consider when buying this.

Works but is very spotty. Worse part is you have to install the software to control the device. It's not plug and play. Will be trying a different product.

I tried everything I could find on the net about trying to get this to work. I pulled my hair out for around 16 hours and could never get it to work. I finally gave up.......

So I got these really nice bluetooth headphones, you know the kind! I connected them to my MP3 Player and to my phone with ease. I want to use them while I'm at my PC to keep the music from disturbing the Mrs. Seems that BestBuy has a lot of faith in this device and maybe rightly so. However I attempted 3 times to install the software for this little dongle with no luck. BestBuy refunded me with no trouble. Now I am on the hunt for one that I can use.

Great gift that works and enables laptops to be Bluetooth capable.

I bought this item to use in conjunction with a wireless bluetooth keyboard and mouse but it never worked properly. There was always a lag between when I would move the mouse or start typing and when the cursor would respond. I only had the device for a couple months when it just totally died and wouldn't work at all. I ended up ordering a different brand from Amazon that was cheaper and so far that one works much better.

This product, NS-PCY5BMA Bluetooth Adapter, only has one way to install using an installer that downloads files. No way to get individual drivers. The download URL in the package no longer works. Not worth it. Called their support and was told the same thing I found on the community forum, that the driver download is an unsolved problem. Bought it this morning, returning tonight.

While my computer recognized the Bluetooth dongle the drivers refused to load. The instructions say to load the drivers from broadcom.com but the program would not verify the dongle. Spent several hours searching the internet for solutions and trying them to no avail. I decided to return the product.

I installed the drivers after downloading them but the bluetooth dongle was still not recognized. When I finally got this to work and recognize a Logitech bluetooth keyboard, it periodically dropped the signal. When that happened I had to reboot to get it to work again. Looked everywhere in line for a solution to no avail. I guess I'll try another brand and see if that works.

Disappointing waste of time and money. Tried on two Windows 7 Pro desktop machines. Spent several hours trying to install it. Machine and Broadcom software recognize it, but the device validation fails and the software will not install. There are no known compatible drivers. Did extensive Google research before giving up and returning it. (I am an IT professional).

I tried using this item for 2 things. MY BT headset ( beats by dre) and my phone. Worked great for transferring files to my phone. As for using my headset however... It seems like the signal strength for streaming and range is not the best. My headset is maybe 2 ft away from the adapter.

It works as expected. Nothing too fancy. Hasn't broken yet.

Spent a lot of time troubleshooting over the phone with Insignia. They essentially said a recent Windows update made this device incompatible with Windows. Their current fix works for an estimated 50% of people. Save yourself the hassle and avoid this product.

Dongle installed easily enough and connected, but kept dropping out. Frustrating experience. Considering returning wireless headphones because of the hassle, lost time and lack of confidence in the technology.

The driver download link does nothing when clicked, so the driver cannot be installed, making this a worthless purchase.
