Get a Brick 2 or two (or maybe even three)!

I use these smaller Bluetooth speakers for a variety of things, and I have several different models (and multiples of several models). I saw the Insignia Brick 2 as a Best Buy Deal of the Day item and figured it wouldn't hurt to buy it and try it out for the price. Thanks to Best Buy's return policy, I could take it back if I didn't like it. Within its sale price range it had a few features that set it apart from similar Bluetooth speakers I have in the same price range (at their regular price). The first is the rugged and waterproof design. I doubt I would ever actually "need" the waterproofing, but it's great to have in the price range. The rugged design is always going to be a plus, and once again it's nice to have something extra like this in a price range way below its normal price. The overall design is smooth and sleek, and the ability to position it horizontally or vertically is nice. One thing about the design that isn't "ideal" to me is the placement of the buttons on the back of the unit. This means it's not going to be as easy to adjust the volume or access the other buttons while listening to the speaker because you'll have to turn it around to get to the buttons as you'll likely have the front of the speaker facing toward you to get the best sound. Another thing that stood out is the long battery life. All the aforementioned stuff is fine and dandy, but how does the thing actually sound. Well, I tried it out today, and it absolutely blows away the other Bluetooth speakers I've been using! This makes sense because the Brick 2's normal price is much higher than the normal price of the other Bluetooth speakers I've been using. The sound is very full and deep. So far I've listened to an Audio Bible cd (connected to an Insignia portable cd player combined with a Bluetooth receiver/transmitter) and an mp3 from a computer using the Bluetooth transmitter. It also sounds really good using the 3.5mm audio cable too. To get the Brick 2's quality (build, sound, etc.) on sale for the lower price range is a no-brainer, Thankfully the Brick 2's are on sale again, so I'm going to grab at least one more. Here's another added bonus. Insignia is Best Buy's store brand, and all Insignia products manufacturer's warranties can be honored in-store at any Best Buy (as long as you can show proof that you purchased it from Best Buy and within the warranty period). The Brick 2 comes with a 1-year warranty, so I can take it back to any Best Buy to exchange it for a new one if there's any problems within a year of the purchase. Go ahead and get a Brick 2 or two (or maybe even three). I think you'll be glad you did. Hope this helps. Thanks. Matthew 7:12

Good sounding speaker with great battery life

Bought this speaker (NS-SPBTBRICK2) black model on sale for it's style and long battery life. The design is good in that the front panel is angled up at about 40 degrees. This directs the sound up into the room. From the photo, the speaker appears as a thin oval shape, but was pleasantly surprised to see that it is more triangular in depth with a flat 1 inch back. Startup and Bluetooth connection were flawless. Appreciated the four quiet beeps on startup and shutdown instead of a loud tone or voice. On to the sound; the mids and highs are great, perhaps a bit bright. The bass at first seemed a bit weak, but using the speaker to break it in, the bass improved. Then I set the speaker on it's back so that it pointed straight up. This gives the best sound as it tames the highs and balances the bass better. As an added bonus, this produces omnidirectional sound throughout the room, eliminating the need to stay in the "sweet spot". I have been listening to it this way as I am writing this review. Very impressed with this speaker and it would be a good buy even at full price.

I really wasn't expecting much honestly... The world is flooded nowadays with Bluetooth speakers, and most in the price range of what I paid for this (on sale) have, for the lack of a better word, sucked. When I got this one, the first thing I noticed was just how heavy the package was - the speaker is heavy! Hoping that it results in a good build quality?? I do know that there is a battery inside that you can charge other devices via a USB cable so some of the weight may be from the battery too. Why I selected this over the thousands of other choices though was that it actually had an aux input. I carry it to work with me every day, and since I work at different workstations, I never know if the computer I'll be at has speakers or not. If not, all I have to do is plug this into the headphone jack and it's good. It sounds great! Awesome audio quality! And the battery does last quite some time too.... At least two full days of work for me, played at a lower volume. Not sure if I'd pay full price for it, but when it was on sale, I'd say it's a steal for sure.

Full Microsoft Office and Best Tablet Keyboard

I'm glad I didn't just buy this online through Amazon, the specialist in the computer section of the store was a Microsoft rep/specialist that was exceptional; that made a difference for me. I could ask and have answered all of the questions that I could think of, not to mention actually try out the products. The Surface Go itself is awesome. I wanted a tablet because I wanted something small and very portable that I could type up a paper or make a presentation with using real Microsoft Office programs rather than the limited version of Office found on my Samsung Galaxy smartphone. The keyboard is also better than iPad, Galaxy or Pixel tabs because of the mouse and general ergonomics. I found a touchscreen(tablet) with a keyboard awkward without a mouse. And again, those tablets don't have the full Microsoft Office programs that I wanted for work and school. Surface Go looks like a tablet (and can function that way if you want it to) but it is a full PC. The 4gb ram and 128gb storage is not a problem either. Solid state drive means that it runs faster than 4gb ram sounds. Microsoft One Drive and a memory card slot make my saving money on the memory, ie- not getting the Surface Pro, a big win!!

I got this as a backyard around the pool and patio speaker. After reading reviews it seemed like a decent speaker for the sale price and after using it a few times I would say it's ok for the type of use I intend. In terms of battery I will say that after the initial charge I have used it for about 10 to 12 hours over two weekends and it's still going strong but it will be a bit before I get near the 40 hour life advertised. Sound quality is ok for me but it seems a bit sharp compared to some other Bluetooth speakers I have. It does get pretty loud as well but does have some issues with distortion at high volume which could be an issue if trying to be a "party speaker". I am satisfied using it for backyard sound while raking and such but not blown away but had I paid the full list price instead of the 50% off sale I probably would return it. I would only recommend it based on the deal price and type of use I expected it to handle.

I was pleasantly surprised at the build quality and the deep sound it produces. I've purchased a bunch of sub $50 speakers on Amazon that end up sounding lousy and break after a few months. I took a chance on this one cause it was on sale and I needed something to take to the beach next week. It's a bonus that it can charge a device and is water resistant. If you can find it at your store get one! It was worth every penny. I also like that you can stand it up. My only complaint is that it makes a weird crackle when you play music while charging it. Considering that it has a 40hr battery I'm not too bummed about that. Definitely buy it!

I purchased the speaker for a laptop since I did not want to only use the factory speakers. It really does sound wonderful and will automatically connect with the Bluetooth on any device. Even after I have turn the laptop off, when I turn it on again, the speakers will automatically connect if they are powered on. The battery last for a really long time and also the speaker will turn off if it is not being used in order to save the battery. I like that feature a lot because sometimes I may forget to turn it off. I also use the speaker sometimes for a mobile cell phone device and it sounds just as good as a large-sized soundbar. I am very pleased with the purchase. I have not had any problems when are using this device so far, and I have owned it for about three months.

I was not expecting this sound quality from this speaker. Connecting to my phone was a breeze, took no more than a couple of minutes to figure out. This was my first time connecting my phone to a Bluetooth speaker. I Have always had nice aftermarket sound systems in my vehicles and have an outdoor sound system wired to a Yamaha receiver so I think I know good sound. For the size of the speaker I am impressed. I have not timed it but a full charge lasts a lot longer than a similar size speaker which I paid more for on amazon. (Aomis). Even better I got it on sale. Only issue is my wife pretty much took over it. Would definitely buy again.

I have had this unit now for over 3 weeks, using it 4 to 6 hours a day, 5 days a week and it still has over 25% battery life remaining. the sound is good, not stellar, but is loud enough to hear over the engine noise in my delivery truck, something I had issues with the Jawbone Mini Jambox it replaced. The Bluetooth connection with my iPhone XS is rock solid, connects fast and stays connected even when venturing out to deliver packages. My only complaint is the lack of local controls for play/pause and track skip. Only volume controls and a "phone" button that, on the iPhone, just activates Siri are present on the unit and they are on the back, difficult to use without picking the unit up and looking at it. Overall it's a really good speaker.

I use this primarily for listening to the evening news while preparing and cooking dinner. Works great. I have had it about a month and I still do not need to recharge. It is rated to last 40 hours and I must be closing in on this. Plus the speaker can be used as a power source to recharge a cell phone., good in an emegency Now that we have found how well it works, we are going to buy another one so we each have one. So much better than the iphone and ipad speakers. We listen to a lot of podcasts, youtube and facebook live broadcasts and found the speaker makes these much more enjoyable.

Don’t be fooled buy the price, this is my third insignia Bluetooth speaker with a power back and it’s definitely one of the best that I’ve purchased. The sound quality is outstanding, the battery power is out standing and not to be over looked is it’s ability to charge your phone on the go. I purchased the black for my new kitchen and it looks and sounds great it also has the ability to answer phone calls so if you’re cooking or doing something else you could talk hands-free. This is definitely a good value and a good product and every time you go to Best Buy you only find a few, so some pick one up when you see it.

If you're looking for a speaker that has good bass for music, then this is not the speaker for you. I got this on sale, because I left my JBL Clip at work, and didn't want to wear my headphones. The Clip is much better for playing music, but this is a good substitute if you're not too picky. It can stand up or lay on it's side, but if you point it at a wall, you can enhance the sound. I also like the long battery life and the ability to charge another device from it. It's not a bad choice for a small gift, stocking stuffer, or as a back up.

Speakers Crackle out of the box

I bought two of these units at my local store with the intent to use them as the rear for my surround home theater system. When I set them up, I tested with a mini-plug from my cell phone and there was a metal-ish vibration sound. I went full Bluetooth from my smartphone but the sound did not improve. I needed two for the rears and for the occasional trip out to the garage or yard. they are not good for either use. The noise was the same from both speakers out of the box so I tried multiple devices and volume settings. They only had ok sound at less than 25% volume on the speaker and low bass.

      Hi.

Thank you for taking the time to review this product. The speaker was manufactured to be used directly as a portable unit and to be used with mobile devices such as phones, tablets or even laptops. They would not serve the purpose of being rear speakers. For any additional support, please call us at 877-467-4289.

Look, I think most bluetooth speakers are WAY overpriced. I mean those Beats things are totally ridiculous. I would put them up against speakers at half the price in a blind test and I bet most ears wouldn't be able to pick the more expensive model. With that said, I chose this speaker for my kids because I know it's going to get abused, it wasn't crazy money, and it sounds pretty good. Compared to a speaker in a phone, this thing sounds like Dolby Atmos.

I purchased this speaker primarily for use as a speaker for my phone. I was led to believe that it would pick up my voice better, however I was disappointed when using it to have the person on the other end of the call saying they couldn't understand me. The sound of the music coming out of the speaker is very good, and since that is the primary purpose of these small speakers, I am giving this a 3. It's just not what I wanted as far as a Bluetooth phone speaker, so I can't recommend it.

I love this thing, I bicycle a lot and I immediately took this along on a ride and strapped it to my bicycle rack and rode 60 miles with it cranking the whole way. It's not super loud, but it's pretty darn nice. It seems to be pretty rugged as it has so far held up to all the bumps and road vibration I've thrown at it. I have had more fun with this thing.

Great speaker; I wish I could give it 4.5 stars. It connected quickly and easily to my phone (Galaxy S8), plays smoothly, really good sound. It stands upright or lays flat. Had a whole day's worth of a charge right out of the box. The only downside I can think of is the bass. It is OK, not great. I realize this isn't a $300 Bose unit, and that it is a compact unit. I don't want to imply I am dissatisfied with it but, that is my only negative. I recommend this.

I purchased to replace a jbl flip 4 that burned out. This is not the jbl flip 4, the flip 4 is much better, but it also cost $75 more than the $25 paid for this, and it has a phone bank. When comparing to other $50 speakers, i would probably purchase this over the competition. The sound is good enough for a descent sized rec room, sound quality is good not great. Its good for limited use and to provide background music. If you are an audiophile or listen to music alot, you will want better quality speakers

I had a wireless speaker that stopped connecting to my phone that I loved cause it allowed me to listen to music in a way that made sure it was not too loud at night. Well this one works even better, it pairs quickly, it is directional, it gets really low, and the battery life is insane. My husband has one and he uses his at work and needs it to be loud enough to be heard over machinery. We both love them and for different reasons. Added bonus it will also charge other devices

I am highly impressed that such big sound can come from this little speaker. Very excited about this purchase. The only issue has been with trying to talk on the phone. People on the other end are able to hear me clearly, however, the sound received seems very muffled. May have to play with the volume control through your phone settings or on the speaker to try and correct this. Otherwise, this is an amazing speaker for listening to music on the go.
