Great radio for in my garage. Sounds great and no problem with radio reception.

This combo CD/cassette with Radio was a great gift for those who still have or use older forms of music

We had a very old AM/FM radio with cassette player. Since we have a lot of old speeches and lessons on tape plus like talk radio, we were really bummed out when both the AM radio and the tape deck failed within the same week. The Insignia looked like it had everything we wanted, plus a CD player we didn't really care about, so we bought it. Sound quality was acceptable and it was very serviceable. BUT, here is why we found it useless and returned it. 1. It has ten station presets for each AM and FM. However, if the unit looses power - like a power outage lasting only a few seconds - all presets are lost and the unit defaults to "out-of-box" settings. Maybe batteries would prevent this, but if you're not going to move the unit around, you are just wasting money on batteries that will get consumed without you ever needing them. 2. Setting the presets is more bother then it should be. 3. If you are on preset 3 and want to go to preset 1 or 2, you must got to 4, then 5, then 6, etc. until getting to where you want to go. i.e. presets tune up one station at a time only, not down nor can you jump from, say, 4 to 7. 4. If you want to tune a station that's a long distance from where the radio is presently tuned, on either the AM or FM band, there is no rotary knob. You press and hold the up or down button, but the radio only scans to the first station it encounters. At that point you have to release the button, then press and hold it again...and again...and again, until you finally reach the station you want. 5. Pressing the on/off button takes enough force that the unit slides, so you must grab it to prevent the sliding. Now the problem is that you have just touched the CD cover, so it now pops up. 6. It does NOT have a built-in FM antenna. Rather a wire that dangles from the back. There were several other issues we had with the Insignia but we resolved all of them by returning it and getting a refund.

Returned a Sony that worked for only 4mths. Then purchased a Jensen that worked for 1 hrs and returned that one. This insignia puts those to shame. Excellent sound and just seems to be better made in my opinion. Would Definately recommend this model!

It works fine. It has radio, cd player and tape player. Have not had it long.

A really nice unit for the money. I can still play my memorable cassettes and CD or tune in to a favorite FM radio station to drown out the noise at work. A nice, clear sound and reception.

Has good sound. It will come in handy during hurricane season. Battery and AC power.

This was a gift for my Mother in law she wanted a small radio CD player ,this fitted the bill

Use to have wireless speakers for my pool area, but recently they were not working very well, so I decided just to put a mobile radio when out in the pool area and this radio did the trick. It's nice that it can play cassettes and CD discs as well.

I love the features on this unit. Radio sounds great. I listen to cds a lot and this unit is perfect for my wants. I also have some cassettes that I haven't played in awhile because I no longer had a unit to play them on. Love everything about it.
