power not really strong enough and charge didn't last long I would not recommend

I returned this item. I wanted a cordless vacuum with rotating brush.

I am SO happy with my purchase! Probably way happier than anyone should be about a vacuum, but hey, this is making my life easier! I searched on Amazon for a compact, cordless vacuum for my small apartment, but all were too expensive for my finances (or I should say, lack of... all are in the $100 - $200 range, and up. And all have mixed reviews). Cords on vacuums drive me nuts - I hate vacuuming, and now that I have wood floors and no rugs - AND a much hated sectional that seems to toss it's fake leather peelings everywhere I look - well, I wanted a better solution. Sweeping takes too long, and frankly, I'm lazy. My local Best Buy had it on sake. It was super easy to assemble (took even me only about five minutes), and it even had a bit of a charge in it. I did wait until the next day to try it. Picks up everything, even cat litter. The light does blink all the time, but my vacuum is still charged - I've been able to do three rooms with no problem at all. It even can be used as a handheld vacuum, and emptying it is a breeze. Instructions say to leave it on the charging station when not using, so I would think this means it isn't lithium. Which is fine by me. All I care about is that it works - and it does!

I ordered a Hoover Cruise lithium cordless vac (BH52210PC) and was evaluating it at home when I came across this. I paid $140 for the Hoover. For that price, I could buy 3 of this Insignia ($30 on sale) and have one for each floor of my house and still have money leftover, so I decided to try it and the Hoover side-by-side. A lithium battery was initially important to me, but I realized after using the Insignia that it really isn't a factor. As a comparison, the Insignia is quieter and easier to use. The Hoover's floor attachment flopped around and wasn't as easy to control, and the Hoover doesn't stand on its own like the Insignia does. The Insignia's hand vac is also easier to access. The only thing the Hoover was better at was emptying the container after vacuuming. The Hoover has a quick-release door that makes dumping the dirt easy. The Insignia involves taking off the cover and removing 2 filters before dumping the dirt. The Insignia is super light, which makes vacuuming stairs easy, and I now have one in the kitchen near where my messy cats eat, one in the basement near the litter boxes, and one on my second floor for quick bathroom cleanups. I haven't run out of battery or suction. In fact, once, I sucked up a fly and stuck a tissue in the opening so I could trap the fly to take it outside (much easier and cleaner than swatting!) and when I used the handheld next, I'd forgotten to remove the tissue. It still sucked up bits of dry cat food! And this vac is quiet, which I love. It's definitely quieter than the Hoover was. I returned the Hoover. I recommend this Insignia cordless vac.

It worked great for the first week. But after that it would not charge.

Read the reviews before purchasing....glad I did...this little gadget sure works great for the price I paid 29.99 on sale...cannot beat it. ...plus detach and can use as handheld...FYI, the light continues to blink red when charging and shuts off when done...it seems to takes a day for a full 12 hours or so to charge. So good not to have a cord hanging slowing you down. I recommend to buy.

Great product. The designer apparently realizes there is a group of my type of consumers out there who needs to vacuum the room floor on often basis, and pulling those conventional heavy duty cleaner with long cord is a quite onerous work. This slim stick design is a smart solution to this problem. You may park it in a room corner on the charge dock and use it conveniently as often as you need. I particularly like the 2-in-1 feature that you can only take the handheld section to clean either your sofa or your car. Only issue you want to bear in mind is that it is designed for light duty purpose, sufficient for most of indoor use (at least fitful for my scenario). But you may still want to keep another heavy duty cleaner if you need to pick up very heavy debris one time or another.

This is my 5th Insignia brand purchase. I've been highly satisfied! It's obviously not meant as an everyday vacuum, but for hitting spots on the furniture and the steps on the staircase, it works great!!! Picks up dog hair and dirt very well! It's extremely lightweight and the fact that the handheld detaches is super awesome!

Thought this would have been exactly what I was looking for, cordless and lightweight. Well that's about all it is. The suction is HORRIBLE! I end up picking up the crumbs with my hands I get so frustrated. Don't waste your money on this vacuum.

I think it's very cheap, nice looking, easy to use- easy to put away, lightweight vacuum. It's perfect for my brooklyn apartment!! Although it's not heavy duty vacuum , but I don't really have too much dirt . Loving it!!

Successfully showed that this would - eventually - pick up the kitty litter splilled on a cement floor. However, it would have taken much less time to find the broom and sweep it up. Took this home, purchased a shop vac.

If you have long carpets, don't get this. For everyone else, this is amazing. I only paid $20 at the time and for that price I got an amazing light weight vacuum that can suck up just about anything smaller than perhaps a bean. Highly recommended for new apartment owners are a starter vac.

Bought to use for college. The first few months were okay, then after about a year, it had really bad suction. Also, you constantly have to clean the brush after using on the carpet. Currently, after a few minutes, the brush stops spinning. Wish I would have purchased a different brand.

We were looking for a lightweight vacuum that would help us keep the hardwood floors clear of dog hair and debris from the yard. Did not want to pull out the big Dyson each time. It was a great price so I figured there was nothing to lose. I am pleasantly surprised at how great a job it really does. It glides very well over the floor and charges super-fast. I would recommend this to a friend that has hard surfaced floors as the carpet it much more of a challenge.

The perfect little tool for picking up small stuff my pets leave behind. Works really well on both carpet and floor. Like not having to drag out my big vacuum all the time and the cordless feature is great . So glad I purchased it, and the price can't be beat

Purchased the vacuum for my mother in law who has dark hard wood floors. Helps get the dust off of the floor quickly.

Is light weight, slim enough to be out of the way. Good for floors and carpet.

Great lightweight vac for when you need to get the little stuff. We use it in the kitchen and around litter box.

I bought this vacuum this past summer for college. I only have been using it since august and the brush no longer spins making the vacuum suction suck. Very disappointing.
