I had to use my monitor immediately, so I ran to Best Buy purchase this. If I had known better, I would have bought the cable instead. This unit is a little pricey and a cable would have cost about the same. If you do not want more cables, then I would recommend a DisplayPort-to-HDMI adaptor, but you can find them cheaper and they work just as well.
