Shuts off AVR With Audio Latitude E6510/TV

Owned for 1 month when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this only a few weeks ago to display my refurbed Dell E6510 Latitude (i7) with Windows 7 64 bit with integrated Nvidia graphics, & play audio through my my AVR surround receiver as HDMI ARC-connected from my smart TV, & initially it seemed to work. But it shuts off intermittently & worse, shuts off the AVR completely when I try to play even a basic youtube music video online, needing to do a complete rebooting sequence before booting back up the laptop as required for the AVR connection to be recognized again. At this writing, I have gone through all of the troubleshooting steps possible with several online Dell specialists, including switching cables to test & driver updates, but the issue persists & it seems to come down to the adapter, which is very disappointing as I was simply looking for a basic working solution to use an older laptop, & this adapter in particular, has gotten many reviews for being a reliable one. I hope I can update this review on a positive note if it's merely a matter of the adapter I have being defective & it can be exchanged to give things a final go.
