So much easier than plugging controller into cables to charge them. This plugs into the PS5 or into an outlet independent of your console if you have the correct adapter.

Only drawback is the cord is fixed at the devices and only connects in front of PS5 with Micro USB C. Will not connect in rear of PS5. Only USB port available.
