We bought it for a remote for a Insignia TV that we purchased at Christmas time but just started using around the house mid July when we found we had completely lost the factory remote. The seamlessly booted into the TV upon power up and allowed us to program the TV and then start using it.

If you look at the box, it looks like it might be slightly different from the original remote that came with the tv, but the nice BestBuy employee opened the box, and it was exactly the same. Works just as well as the original.

Connected right away with no hassle and the buttons are butter smooth and SO MUCH better than the awful remote that came with the tv. Almost worth losing the original remote to get such a upgraded replacement.
