I had been looking for something to minimize the wiring that I have going from all my various devices to my TV, and when I came across this little device, it seemed like exactly what I was looking for!
I have a few different game consoles, blu ray player and a Nvidia Shield that I need to connect to the 3 HDMI ports on my TV. Normally I would have to get behind the TV and switch cables depending on what device I wanted to use. With this, I will never have to do that again!
Out of the box, its very easy to set up. You basically plug in the power. Which is a USBC cable (wall wart included) and then plug in your HDMI devices and then run 1 HDMI cable to your TV and you are good to go. You can then use the included remote control to easily switch between the devices. There is just a 1 2 3 button and a power button on the remote, so its very simple to use. They even include a couple strips of double stick tape so you could mount this on a wall or behind a cabinet if you want to.
It says it will support devices with 4K HDR at 60Hz with 3D capability support signals up to 8Gbps. My only small complaint is that it only supports up to 60Hz. I would like to see at least 120Hz, but for my purposes, it will work fine. But if you are hooking up a high end gaming console with this like a Ps5, just know you will be limited to 60Hz.
Other than that, I can’t really find anything bad about this unit. Its simple, and is easy to set up, and just works as advertised!

It has to be turned on and off each time with the remote. Makes it a nuisance

I picked up the Insignia HDMI 3-Port Switch to make life easier with my setup — one HDMI port on my monitor just wasn’t cutting it. Between my gaming console, laptop, and streaming device, I was constantly swapping cables. This little switch completely solved that issue.
Setup was as easy as it gets. Plug the switch into the HDMI input on your TV or monitor, connect your devices to the three ports, and you’re done. There’s no complicated configuration or software — it’s truly plug-and-play.
I tested it with both a 4K TV and a gaming monitor, and it handled both perfectly. It automatically detects the active input, switching seamlessly between sources. The signal stayed clean, no flickering or lag, and it supports full 4K resolution with HDR. I didn’t notice any drop in picture quality or delay, even when gaming.
The included remote is a nice bonus. You can easily switch between devices without reaching behind your setup or pressing any buttons on the unit. It’s small but responsive, and works from a good distance — ideal if your setup is across the room.
The build itself is compact and lightweight, and it fits neatly in a media console or desk setup. I also like that the LED indicators clearly show which device is active at any given time.
Whether you’re using it with a TV or a gaming monitor, this HDMI switch is super convenient — especially if your display only has one HDMI port. It’s a simple, affordable upgrade that keeps everything connected and ready to go without cable juggling.
In short:
Reliable performance, easy setup, handy remote, and no signal loss. The Insignia HDMI 3-Port Switch is a small but mighty addition to any entertainment or gaming setup.

I miss the days when one could pick up a cable, look at the end, look at the receptacle, and if they matched, you could plug it in and it just worked. Yes, I’m that old. HDMI and USB cable standards have only worsened an already confusing situation where now every plug looks the same but every cable might support different features and functions. Is it HDMI, HDMI 2.0, HDMI 2.1? HDMI 2.1a? Is it USB-A, USB-C? Is the USB-C charging only or can it support data? Is it actually USB-C or is it a thunderbolt cable that uses USB-C ends? It’s a confusing mess and a switch like this one highlights this mess perfectly. You see, this 3-port switch is a beautifully packaged simple to use solution to connect three devices to a single display using one HDMI port. Sounds simple right? As long as you pay attention to the fact that this switch is only capable of supporting 60hz displays. The switch is powered from a USB-C to USB-A connector which at first glance annoyed me but I realized that a majority of the TVs on the market ship with USB-A ports so it’s possible one could power this device with the port on the back of the TV, if it’s not already being used by something like an Amazon Fire stick. So it’s good that Insignia keeps the cable and the power brick separate.
Gamers who are investing in a 120Hz display will want to look elsewhere. I was surprised to see a PS5 on the back of this device packaging: sure it will work but you will miss out on the PS5’s native 120hz display capabilities. The Nintendo Switch 2 now includes support for 120Hz displays, as does the Xbox, so I would urge caution that this device is not a good fit for gamers who need 120Hz or higher display capabilities. It is also not possible to daisy chain additional HDMI switches to this unit, you are limited to 3 HDMI signals only.
The switch comes with a remote. At first I hesitated to use it because in my case this will be sitting on a desk within easy reach to hit the round select button. But oddly enough even through the select button is on the right side of the unit, it’s next to infrared receiver which is also a round cutout and I’ve found my finger wanting to press the infrared receiver instead of pressing the select button. Every. Single. Time. I guess I’m just weird like that. So even through the box is less than a foot away at all times I’m using the remote to avoid this annoyance.
I appreciate Insignia including double-sided tape and screw mounts, giving one plenty of options for mounting this thing in a position that works. The only thing I wish this included is the ability to turn off the red indicator lights. What I also appreciate is that Insignia includes an Auto switch function, off by default, which for my use case is perfect. I’m using this device with 3 computers that I reboot often and I love that I can reboot a computer, switch to computer 2 and not be immediately switched back to computer 1 when the reboot happens.
Overall I love that this thing just works, but I do wish it supported 120hz.

I really needed a quick and simple solution to connect my desktop PC and Xbox to my TV. Normally, that wouldn’t be a big deal, but during a recent repositioning of my wall mounted tv, I ended up damaging one of the available HDMI ports. That left me short on inputs, and that’s where the Insignia HDMI 3-Port Switch came in to help. Not only did it get me back up and running with both my PC and Xbox connected, but it also added the convenience of one extra port for when I want to hook up my laptop or another device to share pictures or videos with the family.
Setup is extremely easy, it’s literally plug and play. Just connect it to one of your TV’s HDMI ports, give it power through the included AC adapter, and you’re ready to go. I placed mine in an accessible spot on my TV stand so I can quickly switch over to the third port whenever I need it.
Design wise, there’s nothing flashy here, but honestly, that’s a good thing. It’s simple, compact, and does exactly what it’s supposed to. There’s a single button to select which HDMI input you want active, and it switches instantly without lag. Most importantly, the picture and sound quality are flawless. It feels no different than running my devices directly into one of the tv’s OEM HDMI ports.
For such a small and affordable device, it solved a real problem for me and added extra flexibility I didn’t have before. If you’re in need of more HDMI connections or, like me, had a port go bad, this little switch is a no-brainer.

I enjoy using this HDMI 3 port switch. This is great for those who have a TV or Monitor that lacks HDDMI ports. My monitor has 2 HDMI ports. My PC is always plugged into 1 of the ports. My other port, I was always having to unplug different devises as I would use them. A Switch, Xbox, steam deck etc. With this, I can have up to 3 devises plugged into one HDMI port. Comes with a remote control if you want to change the input, or you can manually change the input via the box.
This comes with a cord for power, and a block for the wall. The cord is 6 feet long. It has a USB-A type on one end, and then a USB-C for the end that plugs into the device. This is one of my complaints about this but its minor, but not sure why they just did not do USB-C on both ends.
The other small thing for me is that it did not come with a HDMI cable. It would have been nice to see an HDMI cable.
Overall, it is worth getting if you have multiple devises to plug in and limited HDMI ports. A plus for it having a remote as well.

I’ve been wanting to get me one of these switchers for a while now. I live in a small place so I don’t have a lot of room to get another television in other than the three monitor set I have. I work and color/edit videos and photos from home as well as run a media business. This allows me to stick my Roku into it and my computer signal, that way I can easily switch between working and just connect whatever HDMI’s I want. It comes with a remote where you just pull the tab out and the battery inside makes contact. You also need to connect it to power in order for it to work. The way I have this setup is I have my Roku ok connection 1 and my PC on two and then my Mac Studio on three. I don’t know if it compromises the quality of the color but so far my Spyderpro which I use to calibrate my monitors has been working as normal so I’m Sure the quality there is on par. It comes with some stickies or magnets but I haven’t used them due to them being too weak so I’ve opted to just let it sit tucked between the wall and the monitor. Overall the quality is great and the picture looks unchanged. I’d recommend!
