After I connected it the image was pink and blurry. I turned off the monitor and restarted the computer a few times and then it worked. It's been working fine for about a month now. We'll see how long it lasts.

If you're planning on doing the reverse VGA to HDMI, look else where. This unit is a one trick pony, make sure you know what you need before purchasing. BTW this item requires power, make sure an outlet is nearby.

Video would wink out to black screen every few seconds. Totally useless. Replaced it with proper Apple HDMI to VGA adapter that worked flawlessly, didn't require and external power adapter, and cost the same price.
