    I bought this so I could add a second monitor to my set up. My desktop only had one VGA and one HDMI port for display. Both monitors I had only accept VGA. I obviously hooked up the one directly to the VGA and the second to the HDMI with this adapter. Both monitors were recognized immediately and required no additional software installation. Super easy plug and play adapter that works great.
