Allows use of second monitor

I wanted to keep the large, beautiful color monitor from my prior desktop and use it with my laptop. This cord allows me to do that. I now have the flexibility to use either my laptop monitor, or the larger external monitor, or even both and have two different things on the two monitors. Wonderful device.

Hdmi adapter

It works wonderfully converting HDMI to VGA you only need to plug in audio separately. This is great for us to travel with as we never know if the facility will require HDMI or VGA now we have the best of both worlds.

Perfect Solution for old conference rooms

When I do, I need an adapter and this does the trick. When the cable to the monitor is long, I've found I need to use the little USB connector on the side to provide additional power. So make sure you have an extra powered USB port and a cable to work with this!
