Added a TV amplifier, but not much better. I cut the cord, and hoped to get by with this on a computer with a tv card which I hardly ever use to watch TV. But this disappointed. Will try something else.

I totally know how this results on a big inconvenience for you. Just remember that reception is heavily linked to the area where you are at and make sure there is a window to point it at, as over-the-air signals have trouble reaching on enclosed spaces. Not very good for use away from cities. A more powerful amplified antenna would be needed. This is fine for basic use. We used this to receive TV signals when the cable was out after the hurricane.
