Constantly gives error message that it needs water when reservoir is full. Have tried cleaning it, unplugging it, etc. but the message always comes back. Now it is leaking rust into the water reservoir from the tray mechanism (see pics). Note: I only use filtered water from our RO system.

Even though the ice cubes dont last long, the machine reuses the water from the melted ice to make new. *small size cubes shown in images*

I bought this product December 31st. Two weeks ago, I came home from work to find the ice backed up and the arm the helps move the ice into the ice holder broken. I thought perhaps it somehow slipped off. It did not, it was actually broken. I reached out to Insignia customer support and through multiple emails back and forth, they decided they were not going to fulfill the manufacturing warranty, which is one year. Do yourself a favor and do NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!

Clear cubes if u use zero water

About six months ago we noticed that there was kind of a dirty rusty residue outside of where the fan is located so we unplugged and the hubs ordered a part and voila it was all better. And then it locked up so he ordered another part and replaced it. All better for about two weeks. I don’t know the details of the parts or the problems I just know that we had them and he did what he does to try to prolong the life of the items. It’s stopped working again and he says this round thing is the part he’s replaced twice. Basically if it were me I wouldn’t have known how to do the replacing/fixing and it would’ve been in the landfill after six months. Maybe if this is only used for special occasions it could last longer…
