My new favorite kitchen appliance!!! The ice maker in my LG fridge died about 2 yrs ago, and I had been going to the gas station ever couple of days for 20lb bags of ice. And depending on which place you went, ranging from $5+ each time. Ever since i bought this simple to use counter top ice maker, I'm free!!! I make ice every couple of days, and its great !! The size of the cubes is fabulous !! They fit in every cup I have, they taste amazing, and there's no running out and drinking warm water until I can get out to the store. I definitely recommend this!! I worried that the less expensive machines would not work as good... But, I have not hax any issues. If anything , it is so phenomenal , I sometimes forget I'm making ice, and it just sits there "paused" until I remember!!! I feel like I'm always apologizing to it for forgetting !!! Haha You will love it!!!

I wish I could compare it to others, but this is the first one I have owned. It was purchased it because the one in the refrigerator went south. OK so the cycle takes about 7 minutes just like the instructions say. Here is the way I use it and it appears to work very well. I put a large Tupperware container in the freezer. Each time the ice maker basket fills up I empty it into the Tupperware container. The next time the basket fills up I take the Tupperware container out and smack it on the countertop a few times to get the previous cubes to separate and then add the new cubes in. I repeat this process until the Tupperware container is full. Once it is full, I empty it into a large plastic freezer bag. I repeat this process until the bag of ice is full. So far this has worked out great and I would purchase it again. At the price point it appears to be a good purchase and the performance is acceptable.

Love, love ,love this ice maker! Easy to fill and clean. Makes large n small size bullet shaped cubes. Only about 10 minutes per batch, and the thing i love most is the quiet operation! No loud sounds, just hear the ice drop in the tray! I've honestly used it everyday since I purchased it, my family loves n uses alot of ice, this was the answer! Definitely recommend purchasing this item! Thanks Best Buy!

Does what it says it will do, makes ice pretty quick, the entire tray is usually full in about an hour, even if the kids take some occasionally. It’s super easy to use, literally full with water abs turn on and quiet, barely noticeable sitting on our counter next to our fridge. The only real complaint we have is that the ice does melt quicker than I would have liked.

I purchased this on BEST BUY DAILY DEAL and it is worth every penny. Often times I look past this brand and thought poorly of them, however I’m now a loyal supporter and strongly recommend this ice maker. You won’t be disappointed and now I never run out of ice in my large household of 8 people. Perfect size options and it isn’t loud or annoying, matter of fact I enjoy watching it make ice cubes.

I found myself buying bags of ice all the time or forgetting and having to go out and see that there was hardly any left. And also, the ice bags were taking up space in my freezer so this ice maker was perfect. Its a great compact size, easy to use and makes a lot of ice.

We needed an ice maker for daily use especially this summer when we all wanted to have cold drinks. It was such a hassle to wait for all our ice trays to freeze esp when we wanted to make smoothies or just put ice on our drinks. The decision to get this Insignia 26-lb Portable Ice Maker is a no-brainer. We do not need the more expensive ones, we just needed something that works. And this one does its job well so far. Since Day 1 of letting it run, it wasn't turned off yet. And so far, we are all satisfied. It produces 9 cubes every few minutes. We just left the settings for large for the ice size. The water reservoir on this unit is not so big so I needed to make sure that it is refilled so that ice-making isn't interrupted. The ice basket is also not so large so if the ice isn't used right away, it piles up in the basket once it reaches the sensor point. If this happens, the unit automatically stops making ice until the basket is cleared. At first use, I found it is better to let the initial batches of ice cubes be put back into the water reservoir so that it cools the water, thus producing the larger cubes later on. The unit isn't so loud, just a slight humming sound that isn't really disruptive to daily life. All in all, this is a nice purchase that is just perfect for our daily needs. No more ice cube runs to the store if we needed more.

They weren’t kidding about this making so much Ice! I turn it on first thing when I wake up and have a whole bucket of ice in less time for me to get dressed for work. Super easy to clean and small enough to have on the counter.

An excellent ice maker that is amazingly quick at making ice, great for my iced coffees in am and very compact as fits nicely in my kitchen counter I really like the simple easy to follow instructions and the very handy ice collection bucket ! I have never purchased a stand alone ice maker as always depended on my refrigerator one, but I needed a small ice cube for certain drinks and this is a great choice !!

This ice machine works well. We use it in our camper so the heat from blower isnt ideal especially when its 100+ outside and trying to keep camper cool. But ice is great. Have only used a few times so time will tell.

The ice maker makes ice in about 7 min and I fill my freezer ice container after 3 basket fulls. The noise is not really noticeable and size is very convenient. I cleaned with soap and water since it says you can’t use vinegar and ice had no smell from batch 1. Great buy. I don’t know why I didn’t get sooner Cons is ice scoop doesn’t have a holder Machine can’t keep ice frozen (not advertised, but would be nice)

Makes ice fast small hollow shapes but cools drinks down fast easy to use did not take up much space. I like it when you need it you can start it up and it makes ice right away . When you do not just turn it off drain water. Then restart it on another day.

Insignia isn't the company I would have imagined would be producing a portable Icemaker w/ Auto Shut-Off, but I'm happy to say that despite this initial impression, I have no problem admitting my error. In addition, despite this incorrect assumption, I'm pleasantly satisfied with what I've received. Ignore the fact that it's a Mint color, reminiscent of the 50's and 60's style decorum. It does EXACTLY what it is supposed to do: MAKE ICE...AND LOTS OF IT. Overall, the icemaker is quiet, efficient (the first batch was created in just FIVE MINUTES) and by the time the catch-basket is full, you're ready to fill multiple glasses with enough ice to make everyone happy. The display atop the machine is easy to use and the cover functions to keep the ice from rapidly melting before you can make use of the ice you need. Overall, I'm pleased with my purchase and look forward to many baskets full of ice for months and even years to come.

I love this little guy!! It makes ice quickly and we use it up on these triple digit summer days!! Easy to operate. Keep it filled up with water every morning and evening. It’s worth the price! Great size for my small household of 2.
