This little ice maker was great for the first few months. And then the "hiccups" started. About 8 months in the ice full sensor would constantly false trip. But that wasn't huge as generally turning it off and on again would resolve it. But then a year and a few weeks after purchase the little tray arm that actually lifts to make the arm would seize. And I didn't opt for the extended warranty. I only ever used filtered water like it said, I cleaned it regularly and yet it needed the off/on tricks far too often. And sometimes you have to have it off for extended periods of time and then on again and cross your fingers. So when it worked? The ice was good, it was reasonably fast and the ice cube shape was nice. It didn't keep the ice in the tray for too long before it started melting though, so I got in the habit of dumping it into the freezer as often as possible. The poor little fella just didn't stand a chance of staying reliable it seems, and like so many other instances it failed -right- past the warranty period so you're stuck with no options.

When it makes the first batch of ice they're pretty tiny and see-thru. About the 3rd batch of ice, if you have it set to make the largest size it can, they're pretty well formed and a lot larger than the first batch. So I'd just dump the two tiny first batches back into the reservoir and wait for the larger ice to start dropping. So that's a bit of a pain that it has to work itself up to the large size ice cubes, but I could deal with it. Now this past month the ice machine started to get extremely loud and louder. I don't know why, so I need to take it in and have it looked at. We haven't even had it a year yet so I'm giving it only two stars. Because I'm tired of putting up with sub par gadgets just to have them break less than a year anyway. Just when I was starting to like the little machine too, disappointed. I wish I would've kept track of how many times I used it and how much ice was made each time.

This is an ice making machine. Fun to use and watch as it makes ice. In 2 hours we have enough ice for all week.

Very efficient and makes great ice! A bit loud, but left over water is recycled right back into reservoir to make more cubes!

Works very well with little effort. My brother has one he has used for many years without incident.
