Unfortunately that takes too long and results in funny tasting ice (it absorbs any funny smells in the freezer). I finally decided try one of these. It’s fairly basic and you have to refill the reservoir occasionally but NBD. I’ve been using it daily for about six weeks or so and I haven’t had any problems.

However, it simply just stops, and the ice begins melting. It does have a red indicator light, but unless you're actively staring at the machine for the hour it takes to generate a full basket of ice, it's easy to miss the fact it's stopped, and now you have to begin all over again.

We have had three Igloo ice makers and they all seem to operate the same- same size ice cube and same time to manufacture the ice. However, this ice maker has lasted the entire season, where as the IGLOO versions were already malfunctioning. I purchased the warranty on this product and will keep updating this review!

Good Price But Ice Melts Quickly
