Old drink fridge makes disgusting tasting ice. I didn't know that small portable ice makers were a thing, came on here and was extremely surprised and elated. Bought this one and it has been keeping me happy and hydrated since. Border collie is very happy getting her ice cube treats back lol :)

Malfunctions after a year of use

After a year, your ice maker will start malfunctioning or just stop working. If you buy this product, you better be a Best Buy Total Member with the 2 year protection plan. On my 2nd Insignia Ice Maker and after a year of use, it stopped working again. So I will be returning my ice maker for the 2nd time and getting it replaced under the protection plan again. If you don't have a protection plan, I would not recommend this product. If you have a protection plan, I say go for it. You will definitely get your money's worth out of the protection plan that you pay for.
