The motor seized up and rusty water was leaking out the side. Too bad as I liked it. Apparently this is par for the course on these ice makers.

You have to remove it and put in your freezer or it will melt. When I think of ice maker, I think of a my freezer ice maker, but that is far from this machine.

It was wonderful, quiet, made consistant ice until last week (July 9th) it started making all kinds of noise, but still made ice. Now as of July 17th it has just stopped making noise and ice all together. Just sits there with the "ice full" light on. Ive tried the whole unplug it, plug it back in routine, but nothing works. So if you want an ice maker that will last, this is NOT the one you want. I got 2 months out of it.

Worked for 18 months

I only used purified water in it and made sure to keep it cleaned. However, the ice started to get more and more deformed and barely made ice. I cleaned it again and it just stopped working. Cheaper to just buy another ice maker than taking it somewhere to get fixed. I thought I would get more use out of it than just 18 months, so I will try a different brand.
