It worked for 6 months then it cracked, rust, leak
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pros - the first 1-3 months you have a really nice machine with good ice the forms quick Cons - machine cracked while shoveling ice and it caused water to leak into the machine while running. Also it started getting rusty from the area with broken plastic which im sure then turned into rust and mold combo. Cleaning it was impossible and took me hours and hours each week go scrub. Dont expect that you can clean out the pipes of this thing either - god only knows what kind of mold and metal i couldnt remove from the plastic pipes. I tried cleaning the machine with solution but that didnt really help. Its now out of warranty and we are out 100 bucks and a lot of time spent cleaning. Save your money and buy a GE opal on sale. This machine is just bound for a landfill within 1-2 years. Best buy should really consider improving the quality of the Insignia brand or at least give your loyal cardholders more warranty service for free.

I will say, however mine would say it was" full" because 1 ice cube was on the top of the basket but the basket itself wasnt even half full. Mine also stopped working after a year. The fan component on the side no longer worked, and even though the ice maching was taking the wster it was not getting cold to make ice cubes. The machine was getting hot to the touch. Disappointed!

The ice was thick and solid, I was able to get some and put it in my freezer, I used it for Christmas Eve all my guests were pleased. Then on Christmas day the ice was thin and watery, I tried with a different type of water and then it just stopped making ice so I returned it. Maybe I got a bad one!
