I was looking for an ice maker that made sonic ice and this popped up. Shame on me for not reading the description more closely. It does NOT make ice like sonic

Eventually it just stopped being able to raise itself to produce ice and a piece of plastic split. It is not functional at all now. Lasted maybe 1-2 months of operating time; maybe a year and a half calendar time.

Since that time it has jammed a couple times and has become more noisy. The noises are such that we are concerned it may not last very long.

It was great and made ice quickly until last week when it would run but stopped making ice, which is awful to a person like me who hates drinking out of a cup with no ice. Just disappointing
