It keeps going as long as there's water in the reservoir. It's fairly quiet but it pulls 1875 watts, which is way more than a large microwave, and it only makes 9 little cubes every 8 minutes. So, plan ahead because it takes awhile to have enough for a drink. This machine is good for making ice to stockpile for later use. However, the cubes are wet on the surface when they're made and will easily stick together in a big lump your freezer. Also, the "large" cubes are small and the "small" cubes are tiny. We use it periodically because our ice consumption will often outpace our fridge's ice maker. It's portable too, so that's a plus.

You have to keep up with its production to maximize output because it doesn't freeze the ice after production. I use it to bag ice in our pool house for the pool and boat coolers and it works great. I can make enough ice to keep my YETI 110 with silver bullets cool in just a few hours. We bag the ice for use later and that serves us best. some people complain of issues but I think that is because they let it sit. If you don't use it I would do what ever it takes to dry it out before next use!!

However, I didn't do my research and had never seen an ice maker so was shocked at how small the ice cubes were. But it makes them FAST and perfect. And I can use my Zero Water so know ice is filtered and clean.

Searched the internet to see what brands and deals were out there. Very easy to use, add water, turn on, pick cube size and out comes the ice.

Only draw back is that it is very noisy. Get extended warranty it’s only 20.00 for 5 years worth it since the life span of these types of ice makers is 3-5 years. I go shooting and use a cooler for water so it’s works great. I highly recommend.
