Prob the best feature is the ability to remake the ice as it melts. Keep in mind, this makes ice, but NOT a freezer so it might be as cold as a fridge. Once ice is made, to keep it and make more, the ice is just put in ziplock bags and placed in the freezer area of a dorm fridge to make more:)

I live in Dallas Texas and the water is not exactly stellar and ice cubes from fridge taste funny. This ice maker I fill with bottled water and it makes ice quick and continuously. Great machine!! You it everyday for my alcoholic drinks.

Great to have out when you have a party. We have also purchased one as a gift for a family member. Makes ice quickly, we usually put it in either a large plastic bin with scoop I’m the freezer or dump into freezer bags.

Good Retro-Icemaker

Purchased as a gift for my grandfather so he could make ice since his fridge doesn't have an ice function and he was having trouble with ice trays. The fans and mechanisms are pretty quiet. The ice cubes are a perfect size. It makes batches of ice pretty fast. Only problem is that unused ice can melt in the tray and stick together after some time.

Only other option is to buy a new door. Much cheaper to purchace a icemaker. Works great and I am extremely happy with how fast it makes ice cubes.

If you dont use the ice right away, it melts. Our ice maker on the fridge died, so i thought this was more affordable than repair on an almost 15 year old refrigerator.
