Nice to have an option for ice when our Samsung ice maker died on us. Once it starts up - it surprised me how quickly it can make ice. Makes "soft" ice so people (or dogs) that like to chew on ice enjoy it! Hope it lasts a long time! I was tired of buying bags of ice that melt on the way home...and cost to repair the ice maker is undoubtedly more expensive than purchase this one.

Keep the grandkids out of the freezer.

The reports are the kids are drinking more water as the kids love the ice and how easy it is to chew. No longer is the freezer door left open endlessly as kids fill up cups of ice. Hopefully will result in less freezer burn of meats in the freezer. Its fast and keeps up with the demand needed by this large family. The only drawback is the need to keep adding water due to demand.

A little noisy at night, but if you empty the ice and shut it down then it's not an issue. Very nice to have ice all day without having to faf about with ice trays.

Good ice maker if you find at the right price

The ice will not stay cold once it is made, need to use it or move it to freezer or cooler, typical for portable ice maker. I store the extra ice in freezer bag, it up a little after you first add to freezer and it will stay that way until you need it. I bought it when it was a Deal of the Day however about a month later it was a Deal of the Day again for much lower price and I found that frustrating. Outside of refund/price adjustment window because I don’t have a Plus membership.
