The TV i wanted to use this on was an older model that is an extra tv in my bedroom. That tv was purchased in 2013 so I would have thought this would have been usable.

Not surprising considering it's an insignia product, which seems to be the only brand Best Buy carries for so many things. Cheaper and better converters are available online.
