It was less expensive than this one, which upon reflection verifies the common realism that you get what you pay for. This converter does the job and does it very well. Clear resolution of modern media on older equipment is a great benefit in numerous situations. I’m getting extras for a few family members. This converter is a winner for me.

Old DVD Players

Got the correct one

The first one did not have the switch on the front to allow more flexible compatibility and did not work. It had been an open-box, and the instructions did not reflect the product. I returned it and bought a new one, which did have the switch. By switching to 720P, the device worked perfectly and I am now able to enjoy old VHS tapes on an older Sony player.

Saved my old VCR - DVD Player from the trash pile!

Works as Advertised!

Not only did it work as is, it also worked when I patched my RCA into a component selector box and from the component selector box into this device. The component selector box can take up to 3 different component cables (the cables that have 5 inputs/outputs) and outputs the selected input to the television. This was used for my old TV that did not have and HDMI input although it did have a component input for 1080i. I will use the component selector box to patch my VCR, CD R/W and a CD zone 2 player into my tv's HDMI input.
