    Remote suddenly stopped working

    Bought in February, easy to set up and worked great for three months. I bought a silicone protector cover to go with it to ensure the remote was protected and to make it easier to find in the cushions. However, the remote suddenly stopped working one day in May, after three months of use. This is not a syncing problem, this is a power problem. Even after changing to fresh batteries, there is no power in the remote. I can’t even take the backing off the remote to see if there is anything loose or burned out because the remote doesn’t disassemble. Hopefully I just got a lemon, but this is pretty disappointing for a $40 remote.

    Okay, so after reading numerous reviews online (amazon) of replacement remotes for the Insignia smart TV I sided with the cheaper and hopefully more reliable Best Buy option. What happened after 1 month and 1 week after pickup?... Systematic failure with the controls. I can no longer search or play anything on the remote making the TV worthless. Not sure who is to blame, BestBuy's suppliers, or Insignia for making an imperfect device and TV combo. I guess this is the reason TVs are getting cheaper by the year and offering "more" things. Quality is seriously lacking from older TV's with more simple remotes. Rant over...

    Loved it except the voice command quick working after a week. Need to try again because that’s the only one I can find to work with our fire tv.

    Good replacement - until it died

    It's not clear why this remote died - it may have been shoddy, or it may have been a kid and an unfortunate toilet accident. Either way, it doesn't work anymore.

    This remote only worked correctly for about the first week. Now it works most of the time but on the other occasions it can take anywhere from a couple of minutes to ten minutes to work. We’ve tried new batteries but that is not the problem. I would never buy this product again. I’m extremely disappointed and wish I had not spent my money on this remote

    I bought this replacement remote on 12/17/2018 for my Toshiba fire TV. Well, here we are 14 months later and it stopped working. It only turns the TV on and off. Coincidentally the warranty expired this month.,February 25, 2020. What do I do now. I'm not sure I should purchase another one. Not happy!

    I had recently bought the insignia TV this year and the remote that came with it stopped working. I had to purchase a new remote two weeks ago and it stopped working also. It's irritating that I need to purchase a new remote every 2-3 weeks!

    It work overall good for my Toshiba fire tv but you cant use it as a speaker for Alexa....defeat the purpose. Very hard to find an original remote control for the Toshiba Tv and Best Buy doesn't sell it

    Can receive Alexa voice. Have to go to settings and manually type in what I’m looking for. $25. Not good I thought it was the batteries. I replaced but the voice part still didn’t work.

    It worked great right out of the box. About a month later I came home from work in the morning and couldn’t get it to work. I tried everything the YouTube videos recommended and nothing worked. I tried to call Insignia and Best Buy to get help but could never get through (Holding on the line for 30 minutes each). I am now stuck with a remote that won’t work. Luckily I found the old one and used the back of the new one to replace it.

    I just got this remote and today out of the blu it stopped working . I can't even watch my tv without a remote . this is my 4th time buying a replacement remote
