Basic functional unit

I really like the technology, and it functions even better than I expected. The few drawbacks to the unit are that it makes an odd whirring sound when plugged in but not on. The cooktop is an odd surface that seems like polished plastic or maybe glass,but the unit is too light to be glsss.

Decent, but I can’t stand the noise

It’s like a super-pitched sound that it’s so irritating. I’m not sure if I am the only one experiencing this issue. As a result, I would not keep this product any longer.

It's a little tricky regulate the lower the temperature for simmer rice or something similar. I use it at camp, it's much lighter than the old stove it replaced. Purchased during a Deal of the Day with free shipping for $34.99, hard to beat deal for a 1800 watt cooktop.
