But using it is not as easy as it sounded, and I apparently need a course in using induction before deciding whether I should have bought this unit. If anything, the unit heats compatible cookware too quickly. Because cast iron does not spread the heat easily, the small heating element causes oil to smoke and food to burn in the middle of a cast iron skillet. (Cooking shows preheat cast iron in an oven before frying but doing that would defeat the efficiency of the cooktop.) It has two methods for controlling heat, temperature and amps, but I have yet to figure out how to control cooking temperature with either. I am hoping that my problems are the result of not knowing how to use this technology rather than a defect in the item itself.

It lacks fine temp control only giving you some basic range temps but this is forgivable for the cost and quality of the unit. I've tested it cooking various things and I've found it does the job.

Induction range is very convenient and safe to use. But some cookware cannot be used on induction so it's very hard to change stove to induction. So I decided to buy it. single burner with 120v. And it's perfect size to store in 18 inch cabinet drawer. I love it

This is my second induction cook too and it has a higher wattage which helps boil water significantly faster than my older one. Would buy again.
