Customers are saying

Customers admire the Single-Zone Induction Cooktop's fast heating speed and ease of use, frequently praising its convenient size and affordability. However, some users note compatibility issues with certain cookware and find the fan to be somewhat noisy during operation. Overall, the positive feedback on performance and ease of cleaning outweighs the reported drawbacks.

I love this Induction portable burner. This is the third one I have bought. The first for me, and the next two for my daughters. I bought it to show my children how special induction cooking can be. This unit is fast, hot, and most of all, accurate. The speed with witch it can bring water to a boil is impressive, but the accuracy of temperature control, and how even and consistent this is at low temperatures it is quite amazing. And convenient! For a party I set it up in the living room and used it for the chocolate fondue. Excellent! and the price is low enough to get everyone into induction. And if you have some rather expensive pots and pans and don't know if they are induction compatible, then get this to test them before you remodel with a three thousand dollar induction cooktop.

I like this stove because I don’t have to deal with the heating element used in the conventional stove which could have much higher chance for being a fire hazard. With this stove, it remains cool until the pots are placed on the stove surface. It heats up quite quickly with the heating temperature levels set by the users. The only downside is that it is only compatible pots that are made of magnetic type of materials, i.e. pots made of aluminum would not work. Most of my pots and pans are not compatible with the stove. I end up buying a separate pot so that I can use this stove. It is especially great for hot-pot.

I bought this cooktop due to being concerned about my cat jumping on a hot stovetop, as my efforts to keep him out of the kitchen have been unsuccessful. Since I live alone and rarely use more than one burner at a time, I felt this was a good solution. Having never used an induction cooktop before, I was amazed at how quickly this heats up; it boils water in less than a minute, and a fry pan is ready for cooking in far less time. Other reviewers comment on this unit being loud, but I don't find the volume or sound to be unpleasant, particularly considering how well this works.

Heats up fast and easy to use. A little loud, not sure if that's normal, but it's not disruptive. Nice to not have to run the gas stove all the time.

I’m very pleased with this cooker. Great deal at $30. There’s a learning curve, but manageable when paying attention. The few things that I’ve made have come out well. I’m a blind individual, and layout of buttons is fantastic. I also appreciate the layout in user manual actually matched cooker layout. Great job Insignia and Best Buy. I have a starter induction pot and pan set from BB&B, and there’s been no issues with connection. I have a few Insignia products, and have had no issues. A 3.4 qt Air Fryer going on 3 years, and a 5 qt going on 2 years. Hopefully this cooker does as well.

This Insignia Single zone induction cooktop is very good so far in term of functional as high heat, quick, and potable ... good option for camping, travel, dorms ... Get it while on sale as Deals of the day. It worth the value of $35 for its functionalities for us. Let see how long it would last, I would update more for it reliability.

I have used this item for a few months and I am always amazed at how quickly it can heat up a cooking vessel. I am new to induction cooking so I can't really judge this from any other similar cooking appliances but I will say this has exceeded what I expected from this relatively small cook top. It is also quite thin and easy to store ... perfect for the small apartment, dorm room, or to take on a trip (where electrical outlets are available)

I’ve never owned one of these cooktops before but it seems to work really well. It heats up very fast and temperatures are easily controlled. I didn’t realize it was going to be so large but that would be good for large pans. I bought this to put in our travel trailer so I believe it will work quite well. The only downside Is that it is large so I will have to find a good place to put it is that it is large so I will have to find a good place to put it when traveling.

I bought this for my RV it doesn't heat up the kitchen like the gas stove does it has exact temperature timer it shuts itself off I'm very impressed I've never had an induction burner before had no idea how nice it is I did have to purchase a couple of do pains because they have to be magnetic on the bottom but that's fine it's so nice not to be in a sweltering RV when I'm camping

I had to get some new pots and pans to get this to work. Its is a little loud when cooking because of the cooling fan. Gets the pot or pan hot quickly. I only wish it had more temperature controls. When boiling water for pasta, I can get it to barely boil or high boil. It needs to have a temperature setting in between.

Took me a bit to learn the feel of this cooker. It took so long because the temperature adjustments are in increments that are not conducive to easy cooking. For example - rice. Once I have it boiling I must tend to the simmer because 160 is too low but 200 is too high. What a waste of time tending to a low simmer. Why can't I have 180? Or adjustments in five degree increments? Love that it is insanely EASY to keep clean! I am sold on induction cooking. It is fabulous. FAST. Wish I'd tried it sooner. The best of both worlds - runs on electricity but cooks like fueled by gas. If you are thinking of making the change to induction - go for it!

Great price, especially if you catch it on sale. Good to act as an accessory to your stove's burners or, especially, if you are travelling and don't have access to one. REMEMBER! You must have pots and pans that are magnetic for this to work! Check with a magnet on your cookware before purchasing and being disappointed!

Purchased this for hotpot. Works pretty well for the purpose. Easy to operate, clean, keep . No nonsense at all. Fan runs all the time but doesn’t bother me too much. We started to use it for other type of cooking, for example, we use it to simmer for long period of time, temperature setting works great. Instant power adjustment is very handy. BTW included magnet tester was ingenious.

Works great and is especially useful when precise temperatures are important like custards, chocolate, butter and liquid baking ingredients that are easily burned.. Perfectly quiet and a snap to clean. I actually put a paper towel between the cooktop and the pan wheen cooking messy things for an instant cleanup

The cooktop works well enough BUT you have to purchase/ use specific metal pots and pans for it to work at all. Beyond that, the design of pan & thickness can change required temperatures / cooking lengts. Plus, electric heating is very different from gas and these all take time, experience, and a few burnt meals to master. As long as you keep plug & unit away from water/ moisture there is very little chance of danger. As soon as you remove activated pan from ring it will start to cool down and the unit itself is cool to the touch upon removing hot pan. If you are new to this technology I would reccomend staying away from large sized meals or complicated/ multi-step frying until you have leisure time or have mastered induction cooking.

This is a great induction cooktop. Very fast at heating things up - simple to use. Many applications for this. We plan to use it in our small camper that has only a gas range. But it will do secondary duty in the house, as an induction cooktop to use with our current electric flat panel stove. Great product.....just what we were looking for.
