Bad Failure--overheating; flaky electronic control

Owned for 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Seemed to work OK the first several times; then it started mis-behaving: it would only cook on the highest setting (Temp and Power), so DANGEROUS--the 1800 watts is desirable, but not if you cannot get it to cook lower when you need to. Then the next day, it seemed to start out the same way, so I stopped, and waited a bit, then was unable to get it to work at all. I bought this based on VERY FAVORABLE experience for over two years of a prior version Insignia cooktop (we have two) that perform wonderfully.

Didn't heat things up as fast

HEADS UP~MAKE SURE your cookware is compatible

Magnet is supplied w/cooktop. You are to check if magnet sticks to bottom of your cookware & IF IT STICKS then YOU CAN USE ~ IF Magnet DOES NOT STICK … THEN cooktop IS USELESS…I personally own a set of RED COPPER COOKWARE…. And IT DOESN’T work. I just wished that it was mentioned in description. Unfortunately item was returned.
