The Insignia Sonic Bluetooth Speaker is a real value from Best Buy. Speakers with this solid, heavy ‘outdoor water resistant’ design from other manufacturers often sell at a much higher price. The speaker paired instantly to my Bluetooth source. I just turned it on and it’s already in pairing mode. My device was about 30 feet from the speaker, and it connected instantly. No audio dropouts from that distance either. The sound was bright, clear and LOUD if you turn it way up! I have a pretty big back yard and it filled it with party music. The speaker has two drivers to give you stereo. If you really want to go all-out, you can buy two of them and then when wirelessly connected one speaker will give you just left channel, the other just right channel. At this price purchasing two for real stereo separation isn’t that unreasonable. If it starts raining at your party, you may want to rush to bring the food in but don’t worry about the speaker. Its water resistance is classified as “IPX5.” That means it’ll do just fine in the rain. Its battery life is EXCELLENT. You can get almost FORTY hours of runtime on a single charge. I don’t think even the craziest parties will run that long, so your music will not stop. You can also hook up the speaker to a wired source, such as a computer if you like. You’ll need to provide the standard 3.5 mm. audio cable, but if you’re like me you probably have a dozen or so of those things lying around the house. On the minus side, the bass from the speaker wasn’t quite as strong as the more expensive speakers from other manufacturers, but this speaker was also smaller than most other more expensive models. Bottom line, this rugged speaker would be a great addition to any outdoor event you may have planned.

This speaker is amazing, I use it everyday at work for about 5-6 hours average and that 40 hour battery life definitely shows. I only have to charge it about once a week. It also sounds great, has enough bass for my liking and get very loud more than enough to fill a living room for example. If you find this speaker in sale definitely pick up it!

Great product until it stopped charging a week later

I purchased this for the sale price of $39, and even then I cannot say that it's worth the price. The speaker output is weak. The sound quality is so-so. There's not a lot of separation in the music, and it's made worse by the low volume.

Great speaker until it wouldn’t charge less then 4 months into owning. I even ordered a new charger to try that. Waste of money

Volume is L O W! Used in conjunction with my laptop and projector. the laptop speakers were more loud. Returning.

Absolute trash, can barely use it as a speakerphone, while driving,not loud at all. DONT WASTE YOUR$

I happened to catch this on sale new, in the box yesterday for $29.99. That price made it well worth it. I would never have paid $70 and been happy about it, but for the price I paid, yes. It's a good quality speaker. The salesperson said, "Well, it's not a Sony, but you have 15 days to return it." I'm not going to return it. It's fine and compares easily to my JBL GO2, but the bass is BETTER. I wanted a speaker with an Aux Input, and this one has it. Comes with USB charger and battery life cannot be beat.

This speaker was a gift for my daughter and she is delighted with it. It works great. I would highly recommend this model.

Speaker is fantastic for what it costs. My work vehicle is a 2003 and doesn't have bluetooth connectivity and listening to the same crap on the radio every day is soooo annoying. The insignia was a welcome relief from the monotony. Setup was simple and once connected to my Galaxy S9 the sound was perfectly adequate for car audio. I was finally able to listen to what i wanted instead of what the airwaves dictated. Battery life was as advertised if not better. 2.5 - 3 hours per day over 6 days with over 60% life remaining makes me believe the 40 hour life is accurate if not conservative. The sound is exactly what I would expect from a speaker in this price range. Not fantastic but better than average. The only complaint I have is that the connection is somewhat unstable as my phone is never further that 2 feet from the speaker but sometimes after a couple hours the connection gets sketchy and will disconnect. To remedy, I first tried turning off and turning back on the bluetooth on my phone, and if unsuccessful, then turning off the speaker but only a phone restart would reestablish connection. However, for a $50 speaker the Insignia is a great speaker and worth every penny. If you expect cutting edge quality sound and technology you need to look elsewhere and spend a bit more money, but if you want to listen to music from your phone or device at a reasonable volume level with better than average sound quality from a very reasonably priced bluetooth speaker, you will not be disappointed.

I purchased mostly to use while I hot tub. And this speaker delivers: simple to setup, easy to operate, and decent sound. Many reviews not the lack of bass, but I think the din of the hot tub would drown that out anyway. Very enjoyable listening! One thing to note is that the controls are not lit. There is a light to indicate it's powered. I dabbed some different colored paint on the controls, so I can adjust in low light. Half a year ago I bought the Insignia wireless headphones and am very pleased with that purchase. Way over deliver for the price I paid.
