The Good: Loud, long battery life, compact size The Bad: distortion at higher levels, lacks mid-range For the price and feature set it is a really compelling offer, especially when looking at the 40-hour claimed battery life. After two weeks of use, still have only had to do the initial charge. Get two of them and they can be connected (a feature I was not able to test). Looking at the top brands, Insignia delivers a competing product at great value. One feature I never use myself just on past experience is the call answering feature. 99.99% of the time I'm not even next to the device, but have my phone in my pocket. And I will say range is really good for this device.

The Insignia Portable Bluetooth Speaker is portable/compact enough to bring it to school or work. The sound is surprisingly well balanced and the mid ranges are adequate. The sound is clean and crisp although it can use a little bit more bass. The music streams easily to the speaker from my phone w/o delay. This speaker will be a great gift for a teenager or young adult who loves to stream music.

Very great portable speaker, the battery life is good, the sound is good, it’s durable. Just all around really good! I had to use it as a substitute soundbar for my tv for a month or so and held up decently. Soundbar is way stronger but it was waaaay better than just tv speakers.

Insignia portable speaker . This little speaker puts out amazing sound for its little size. I set it up on my porch and took a stroll about 50 feet away and it is plenty loud and clear as day. If you are looking for a bluetooth speaker for a dirt cheap price get this bad boy.

Love these speakers, I got two. I have hearing aids and even the best headphones aren't as good as these for distortion free sound. Use the two for television and have had them for more than a year. The batteries last amazing long, forty hours and more as advertised

Best in all possible qualities, rich sound, wide range. But last month (about 4 yrs along) the speaker began making periodic loud warbling noises, pretty annoying. Will happily replace it with a refurbished one since it was so good for so long!

I was expecting a little better performance out of this speaker, it is a great size, not too big and not too small. I was a little disappointed by the sound, it left a bit to be desired. Setup was extremely easy, as should be expected in any Bluetooth speaker these days! Just fire it up, pair it and you are ready to listen to some tunes. I played around with both the settings on the speaker and the sound settings on my computer and tried several phones but couldn't get this to match what I expected from a speaker of its size. The price matches its performance, so I think someone spending this amount can't expect top-tier sound. If you are on a budget, you will not be disappointed by this speaker as it will deliver a decent amount of sound with a quality to match.

Battery last a long time. Sounds good, but if you turn it all the way up it sounds bad. Better than others I have. Worth the money.

It’s an amazing speaker - portable - the charge lasts a long time. If you’re getting this to use as a speaker phone, it’s not so good. I initially needed a great speaker phone, and was greatly disappointed. If you’re looking for a great speakerphone, keep looking - and you’re going to have to spend some money. BUT if you’re just looking for a speaker, then get this - you get more than your money’s worth.

This is a pretty basic Bluetooth speaker. Personally, I like the simple design; it's matte black with a mesh/fabric speaker. It's got a good weight to it and overall looks pretty sleek in my opinion. Pairing mode is automatically activated when you turn on the speaker for the first time. It took about 5 seconds to connect it to my iPhone, so no problems there. The overall sound is certainly not the best I've ever heard from a Bluetooth speaker, but it's definitely not the worst either. I noticed that there was a little bit of distortion when I turned the volume all the way up and it definitely lacks bass. It's not tinny sounding but it's not a super rich experience either. Kind of in between on a lot of things. For that reason alone, this is a decent speaker at the right price. If you're looking for top sound quality though, this wouldn't be the way to go.

The sound quality is great without a doubt. The real hassle comes with pairing it with my laptop. Over the 3-4 years that I've owned it (Windows 10 and then 11), I've had to go into my bluetooth settings and make sure it's connected to 'Connected voice, music' setting. It won't work on just 'paired' or 'connected'. Every Single Time. No combination works (powering up laptop first or speaker first). What a hassle.

The sound quality is excellent and loud to enjoy outside.

Love this little speaker. It's perfect for listening to my favorite podcasts. Digital music plays well enough for a portable unit. Very happy I splurged on this during the Black Friday sale.
