I found out by checking the questions section which was answered by Pops "you pull off the top section including the clip".

Great buy - 3 Stylus pens / one purchase

Three different colored ink pens all with the those nice texting tips capable of hitting the right keys the first time. A lot of those rubber tips don't work well and have to be repeatedly hit to work, but not with this product..

Does the job well that it are intended for. The 3-count pack on sale is a good deal. Overall I've been very satisfied with a variety of Insignia products.
