Burned out straightener

After a few days in Scotland, my hair straightener quit working. I believe this item caused it to overheat and burn out. The part of the straightener where I held it became extremely hot, so hot that it was difficult and uncomfortable to hold. My straightener had never done that before.

I am sure it is good for what it is meant for but was recommended for us and not the fit so had to return.
