A call to Best Buy support was a waste of time, since the rep, while cordial, had no idea how to remedy the problem. A trip to the hardware store to search for Sony compatible screws was necessary. Luckily I found the correct screws and completed assembly of the stand, although the inconvenience was not expected nor appreciated.
