I didn't know this sort of device existed. This lets you transfer images (or whatever) from a micro SD card onto your computer or whatever else a USB will plug into. So that's how they do it! I bought it when my daughter bought a GoPro5 so she could transfer the pictures/video to the computer, although you don't need it for that if you have a clue how to use the GoPro5. I don't. But this thing will come in handy for other devices so it's pretty neat!

I bought this reader after learning that SD, SDHC, and SDXC are NOT equivalent. (Unfortunately it could not ressurect the microSDXC card I used in a microSDHC reader - but that's not this device's fault.) This reader works for all three SD formats (SD, SDHC, and SDXC) and accepts both SD card sizes (standard SD card and microSD card). This reader supports USB 2.0 so it's compatible with all USB ports and offers superior read/write speeds to USB 1.0 (but not as fast as USB 3.0).

Needed a way to get videos off a camera I bought on Ebay. I was going to install a internal media reader in my PC but didn't need all those other media outlets. Went in to find what else I could get to use and was shown this. The product is easy to use. Put SD or Mini SD card in the side. Put it in a USB port on the PC. BAM! WHAT! You got your videos transferred. Way easier than installing a media reader and didn't take up space in my PC. Love this piece of peripheral.

Such a convenience! The size is small enough to carry around on a keychain. Works perfectly on both Window PC and Mac.

Works as SD/MMC card reader. Wish it was USB 3.0, but it is serviceable and does what it's supposed to.

I wanted to backup my photographs each day of our 11-day riverboat cruise down the Rhine River. So I took the Best Buy salesperson's advice and bought an SD Memory Card Reader. It plugs into the USB port on my Surface 2 tablet and accepts my SD card from my camera. By uploading a day's worth of photos each evening to my Surface, I felt more confident by maintaining a 2nd source of photos should I accidentally drop my camera in the water or on a cobble-stone path!

Does everything i need it to do. It's small and portable, works great for constant memory uploads and downloads.
