I bought this as a last hope in connecting my Wii U to my home network. Not only did the product not accomplish that, the plastic part housing the USB came off upon removing it from the USB port. I usually have no complaints about Insignia products, but in this case I'd say it's worth spending the extra money on a more quality product.

    not Mac compatible!

I asked for an ethernet adapter to use on my Mac; the CD for installation is not useable on a MacBook Air and there is no online software to install that actually works. The adapter is NOT Mac supported and should not be sold for this purpose. I am disappointed that the sales person was not aware of this, or did not mention it.

Works after finding Mac driver online

Adapter is working as advertised, but the driver comes on a CD. If you are using the new 2015 Macbook, there is no optical drive; only the USB C port. The correct driver is at the link below: http://www.insigniaproducts.com/cms/files/NS-PU98505_NS-PU98505-C_Driver_ML.zip

    Works well

I was in urgent need of one as my wifi wasn't working well, the laptop didn't have an ethernet port and work was getting affected. Priority was to get one adapter that was readily available for pick up at store and I got this one. I connected the ethernet cable and plugged the device into my laptop and it was instantly showing speeds of 55+ mbps on my 50mbps comcast connection. Saved my day. I don't mind it being USB 2.0 as my laptop has USB 2.0 ports also.

Fair Product For Price But Breaks Easily

This device has worked for me for about 6 months now and gives a good internet strength. It is super affordable and easy to use as well. But this device did end up breaking where the USB cover is since they use cheap glue. Still works but not good in quality.

Does the job on Windows 10

I needed to put my Windows 10 PC on two networks at the same time, but have only one RJ45 on my motherboard, so I bought this. Windows recognized the device and loaded a driver from WindowsUpdate (I presume). I never could get the adaptor to work correctly, so I put in the disc that comes with it to load the driver. The disc doesn't have drivers for Windows 10; only up to Windows 8. I went to the manufacturer's website (asix.com) and managed to find the driver for Windows 10 64-bit; loaded it and now it works like a champ. Including drivers for Windows 10 should be done.

Best buy for shizzou my nizzou

Wow, my fiance bought a new laptop which was very nice her her. I Already had one which was 2 years old nothing wrong with it. But that was a 15 inch This baby is 17 inch and my, my what a difference. My eyes are failing and I love to surf that net. But I didn't say nothing to her about it not having an ethernet port. Anyway, I went to get this insignia adapter and what a difference. Wifi in my house is not that bad but I am on the third floor in my office so with Comcast it tends to drop off during peak hours. Yea we know the Fcc are aware. No time for that. This thing was 20.00 and it's so freaking fast. As far as being on the the wifi in my home it's ok but everybody has a smart TV and a IPhone or samsung devices. 7 people with multiple electronic sources which require some sort of Internet connection, at one time or another the laptops upstairs tend to bog down. I WAS going to get a wifi repeater, but my comcast buddy just ran me some extra cables to other rooms and no worries. Thanks insignia and best buy your always on point.
